So I use this pc primarily for gaming and I have a good CPU cooler. So turning it off looks like a good idea. Anyone know of any cons of this? Would it affect any other games in a negative way? Thanks again
I use a program called parkcontroldist64 to turn off and on my core parking. I played the beta for 22 hrs experimenting with HT and unparking/parking cores. Using this program will let you manage cores in realtime without rebooting. It seems to have sped up Crysis 3 also. I have now started unparking my cores when I work on video editing and have seen a performance increase. Of course when I'm crusing internet or wordproccessing I turn back on coreparking to clockdown the cpu.
Does it drastically effect BF4?
It really raised my minimum FPS. Really helped out in 64 person games. My GTX 680 before core parking would range from 60 to 99 percent usage (up and down the whole time). After core unparking it always stays at 99 percent.

- So you just use park control? Did you change any of the power management profiles as well? Seems like parked cores are useless if u have have the necessary cooling and you use your pc almost exclusively for gaming.
Also question, if I turn parking off and start browsing the web will it just wear out my CPU? (I know I can just turn parking back on, just curious how it operates on less intensive tasks. Thanks I'll give this a try later tonight and ill post my findings
