I have the serial key, now what??

So, here's the situation. I bought Battlefield 3 Premium Edition in CD form because I don't currently have a credit card and the local game shop was closer than wherever I could get a pre-paid VISA or something along those lines. I don't have a CD drive on my PC, and I was fully aware of that when I bought the game, but what I was thinking is that as long as I have the CD key, I can download the game, right? Well, I'm having a hard time proving myself right. Can't for the life of me figure out how to download and install BF3 Premium Edition without buying it from the Origin store. Help?

    In your Origin desktop client in the top left hand corner click on "origin" menu and then "redeem product code" and it will download the digital version.  You can also log into your Origin account on the webpage and redeem your product in the same way and then when you log into your Origin client right click on the gayed out BF3 icon and select "download".
