Solved

I'm stuck on launching campaign on single player.

I can't get into the game. It stays on launching campaign forever. Is there a problem?

  • @rhart717 Nice rig you have :] It could be from windows 10 some have had issues with it with BF4 to start with. I do not use win10 never will but others who do have had to run repair game to get it going with BF4. I would try this first to try and fix this.......

    C:\Users\your PC Name\Documents\Battlefield 4

BF4 folder in my documents holds game configs and screen shots even if BF4 is installed on different drive. When you uninstall BF4 it does NOT remove this folder. So when you install the game again you can still have the same issues. Even if its not a new install it is still worth trying as the game cfg could be mucked up.

1- Go to my Documents and remove BF4 folder place it on your Desktop for now.
2- Be warned you do have to set up your in game settings again.
    3-Repair BF4
4- When done go test your game.

If this fails I would try a small trick I use on Origin ... run repair game reboot PC then run repair game second time then test BF4 Keep me posted I will stay with you until you get it fixed happy to help you .

On side note I just did a new build and put 2 rog 980Ti in it killer card for playing on 3 screens even if it is just one card it can pull off playing on 3 screens easy. If you need it  or want it this is how I see FPS  BF4  as I am to lazy to type things ingame lol.

To see FPS in game with out fraps etc:
    1- open note pad
2-put this in the note pad..... perfoverlay.drawfps 1
3-when you make the user.cfg in notepad, change the file type from text to all. And name it user.cfg
    4-Put in .....:\Program Files(x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4
    5-Also close Origin to put cfg in just to be safe :}
6-You will see your FPS in top right of screen when you start BF4

  • @rhart717 ,  If your on PC give this a try...

Check your firewall to be sure it is open to the game and not blocking it. If this in not the issue then try this...

Start Origin in "offline" mode and launch the Battlefield 4 campaign now directly out of Origin
Make sure that cloud is disabled in Origin.

If this fails to fix it for you try step below...

Re- install origin only not your game just origin.

    1. Uninstall Origin completely from Windows Control Panel.
    2. Reboot your PC. This is important to clear out any lingering registry files or directories.
    3. Download the latest here: http://origin.com/download
    4. Install Origin You should not be prompted to update.

I tried both of your suggestions and neither one of them fixed the problem. I also turned the firewall completely off and it did not help. Any other suggestions?

Come on EA, I bought the game and now there is a problem. Tell me how to correct it. I can play all other games, why not BF4? Tell me.

  • @rhart717 Sorry was afk a few days :/ Sorry it is not fixed for you yet but lets try some other things but I need to ask  to try and pin point the issue for you.

Is this a new issue just out of the blue or have you never been able to play / load BF4? What windows are you on as well as does your PC pass specs to run BF4 if you have never been able to load it? Please understand why I ask as I am just trying to find why BF4 is doing this to you...

    Battlefield 4 System Requirements
    Minimum:
OS: Windows Vista SP2 32 bit (with KB971512 Platform Update)
Processor: AMD Athalon X2 2.8 GHZ, Intel CORE 2 DUO 2.4 GHZ
    Memory: 4 GB
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 3870, NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT
    Graphics Memory: 512 MB
    Hard Drive:
    30 GB

    Recommended:

    Memory: 8 GB
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 7870, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660
    Graphics Memory: 3 GB
    Hard Drive: 30 GB

Moving on to try and fix it for you please do every step in order so you get this fixed....

I would make sure all this is up to date as well as make sure all this is done for settings ..

Latest version of DirectX see this page
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/confirmation.aspx?id=35

Reinstall Microsoft C++ For my 64bit PC's I install both x64 and x86 as it does not hurt the PC

NOTE>>> you need to select the x64 or the x86 file depending on what architecture your computer has. To find this out, Click Start, right click on "Computer" and select "Properties". Under system type is should say "32-Bit Operating System" or "64-bit Operating System". If 32-bit operating system, download the x86 file, and if 64-bit download the x64 file.

    Update your Microsoft .NET framework.

    Adobe Flash Player update
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

    Go to Punk Buster site
    http://www.punkbuster.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php

1- Download PB then extract files to your desktop.
    2- Open Punk Buster folder.
3- Click on the PB setup and it will open.
4-Add your BF4 game to punk buster its at the top of Punk Buster.
5-Then update punk buster again at the top of Punk Buster.

    Reboot PC test BF4

    Disable Origin in game:
In Origin - Application settings - Origin in Game - disable Origin in game

Origin Cloud Storage turn it off
    Origin, settings, General

Make Sure BF4 is set to 64bit if your windows is 64bit
1- open origin and go to My Games
2-Right click BF4 and go to Game Properties
3-Under when launching this game set it to x64 and check off disable origin in game.
4- Hit apply REBOOT your PC and then test your BF4

    Reboot PC test BF4

If you still crash / cant load game see information below....

Try a clean boot : run a Clean Boot: http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/
This should ensure that no programs are interfering in the background.

Below are programs known to make issues in BF4

Disable Mantle if you have it and try Direct X, Turn OFF Anti-Aliasing Deferred in video card settings in game. If you have page file turned off then turn it back on as this can make errors even with 32gigs ram.

Others have said if they uninstall MSI Afterburner issues / crashing is stopped. So if you have this installed remove program and test BF4. Also look at other programs as Asus Game First Service...ROG Game First , Razer synapse, Razer Cortex, Qualcomm Killer Service , Fraps, EVGA Precision, Geforce experience, be sure to turn off the streaming function that is enabled by default ,Raptr, RivaTuner , ASRock eXtreme Tuner, Steam, Skype, aero ,Overwolf extra program in teamspeak and xfire are known to make issues as well. And I am sure more programs not in my list yet turn one off at a time and test BF4.

Uninstall the HD Audio Driver from the video card driver install add/remove programs. This silly thing makes issues in BF4 for some. Reboot then repair BF4 to be safe.

If all this fails to fix it then try this...

If it fails reboot your PC and run repair game again and test BF4.

@2042isNotBFI did play it a few times before, I think I have around 6 hours on record, the problem just started. I will try the steps you provided tonight after work.

My rig is enough to handle this game.

    OS: Windows 10

    Processor: I5 4690K Quad core

    Memory: 32GB

Graphics Card: Nvidia 980 Ti hybrid

    Graphics Memory: 6GB

Hard Drive: way more than 30GB

I'll let you know how I make out.

    Thank you,

    Rich

I did most of your suggestions and nothing worked until I did the last one. Move the file and repair the game. There was obviously something corrupt within the game files.

Thank you, I appreciate your help.

    Rich

  • @rhart717 Sweet happy it is fixed for you for now I will mark my second last post as the solution so it can help others. If it acts up again / same issue post back and you or I can remove solution and get back to work on it.

@2042isNotBFI didn't see your response until after I responded. I did the move file and repair, that worked. Wish I would have done that first.

    I really appreciate your help.

I hope we can talk again sometime without me having a problem.

I only have one 980 Ti and only one screen.

I have a Corsair 780T so there is always room for more.

    Again, Thank you,

    Rich
