sorry my html links were removed. i would suggest not only reading this article and taking note of the case number but contacting your department head.
yes i spoke with an actual human being today over at EA. i will have to go to my bank to issue a refund since EA wont give it for the game but they gave the refund for the DLC. the funny thing is that your team, EA, for case #
08361885
gave me a refund for the DLC but not for the game even after acknowledging that my account was banned THE DAY that i bought your DLC/ Premium. the game was working completely normally before i bought the DLC. i understand that punk buster is an anti cheat system and thats what my error was about as well as that ban is global. they didnt give me any proof of when i allegedly was using the hack. the really funny thing is that 2 things. i offered to hand over windows installer files showing that no downloads or installs other than flash, java, itunes, or chrome had been changed or files modified ANY WHERE on the hard drive. i also offered to allow them to connect remotely to my computer. these installer files are solid evidence that i didnt do anything to break my end user license. the other thing too is that this is a brand new computer that ive had for almost 4 days. that would mean that i would have had to have hacked on wednesday evening to thursday morning and afternoon leading up to my first ban alert at 5:07 p.m. i couldnt have done this since i was sleeping, got up for work, and came home at about 5pm.
the other great thing was after talking with your technician i was threatened that i should be happy (this is actually what he said) that im at least getting a refund for the DLC. he said that i shouldnt even be getting it and that the reason that i was getting it was because his manager was in a good mood. he told me my best bet was to go to punkbuster and appeal for a ban. i requested for a suport number to call but apparently the company that oversees the 70$ purchase that i made doesnt even have a support number. they only have online.
seeing as how there are tens of thousands of bans per game that they support on a daily basis i think its safe to say that my single email will be autoreplied and im pretty sure that my account wont be unbanned. so the company that you have overseeing your customers accounts also dont have any contact what so ever with EA. real smart.
heres what takes the cake.
so i asked why i couldnt have my game refunded. i was first told that the reason i couldnt get my refund was because i broke the end user license agreement. so i then replied if i got my account unbanned from punk buster, thatd show that my account was jeopardized and that something went wrong during my DLC install. i was then answered with a "no" i would not get a refund. so im told i cant get a refund, and that if i proved that my account isnt banned i still couldnt get a refund. so im literally being robbed of 40$ for not violating anything.
so that led me to ask myself, what on earth could cause me to get banned without installing or modifying any files? after doing extensive research on multiple forums to other users reporting similar issues, i found out that an admin on a random bf3 server can kick and ban you not just from their personal server, but can also file a complaint
(only if theyre considered to be a TRUSTED ADMIN) with your user account claiming cheating on their server, even if it hasnt even happened. punk buster then looks at this complaint and bans the account globally. its an automated process as they deal with tens of thousands of bans a day. they most likely dont have a support number let alone any kind of phone number because theyre probably a really small company.
there was another user on a forum that had this happen to him because a "trusted PB admin" filed multiple claims that he was cheating. this was because he kept getting in the gunner seat of an LAV.
my lesson learned here is to never buy anything from EA ever again. id love to let you guys know that not only am i determined under all circumstances to get my refund but in case you cant tell, im rather upset with not just the poor customer service, but the poor company policies. i know this sounds like a disgruntled customer and youre right it does. im sure you come across these all the time since its a known issue.
so, here is what im going to do. i will go to my bank and have them give me my money back since your company messed up the software i payed for. you refuse a refund and im sure my bank will somehow manage to get the money back into my account.
so heres what else im doing. i will be going on the 94.9 fm san diego radio station (dont worry it just broadcasts all of san diego up to the LA area) and talking with my buddy whos already approved my story to air. i will be on air with him in about a week or two, just waiting finalization about the date. dont worry, ill be sure to share the link. you know, you should probably contact steven woods himself. you can reach him at stevenwoods@fm949.com to call my bluff. oh well also be talking about this for an entire podcast too. dont worry, its a new podcast, and he only has a couple thousand people subscribed to it. you guys should really take this with a grian of salt and check these claims out for yourself.
ill also be writing an article or at least my friend will be having this article about predatory businesses robbing customers and refusing refunds with no questions asked for services that have failed. oh did i mention? this is going in the tech section of the orange county register. again, you can follow up with THEIR support line. i probably shouldnt have given you the info either for 94.9 but oh well, i was feeling friendly.
another funny thing too while i was googling solutions for this issue before being refused a refund was that your company was voted worst company.

i had to do more research on this topic. i then found out that EA didnt really care about this article

so it looks like you guys have a tract record of being a terrible establishment to do business with. it explains why your stocks have dropped so sharply in the last couple of years.

this comment will probably be deleted shortly after this post. but hey dont worry, ive saved a copy of this as well as the warm and friendly phone call i had with your tech today. ill be going out of my way to not only share this with friends and coworkers, but do everything i can to let everyone i come into contact with how your company works and to not buy anything branded with an EA logo on it.
i feel sorry for anyone on your marketing team. maybe thats it, you dont have a marketing team or at least a competent one. if you did, youd know that massive flops like mass effect, TOR, and your terrible customer service and refund policies is poor marketing for your company. so, on that note, i hope your board of directors can get your company in the right direction. they did by getting rid of your CEO. maybe theyll get your return policies up to par with what you have in the UK and Germany.
