Knife takedown not functioning properly

Are you using the premium knife? because it got a bug that sounds like your problem.

Yes it is the ACB premium knife. Is there any news if this will be fixed in a "quick patch?"

No i dont heard anything about a fix for it.

I'm non-premium and I can relate to your post. Taking out opponents with the knife feels like gambling. I go behind the guy, press the knife key but my soldier tells me that he lacks the training to take out an opponent in that position.. I don't understand why they went with that system but I guess it looks cool.. The old system worked just fine.

Yup, it's been happening to me since day one. It's very frustrating at times, especially when you have a chance to get someone and your knife fails then they turn around and kill you D;.

Same here, it's bad to the point that I don't even bother knifing any more since there's a 50% chance that the knife will miss with the cool down preventing me from knifing again and I'll be shot by my target.  I don't understand how knifing in BC2 could be so dialed in and BF3's knifing can be so lacking.

Knife takedowns should be done by behind OR by the sides.

The knife should go back to being like the one in BC1, ahhh the good ol' days where it was so easy to get tags xD.

I get a simmilar problem on X360. I can knife from 4-5 FT away from an enemy, but not close.

^  Thanks for the reminder, the range is also an issue, I have spotted people running below me and tried to "assassinate" them AC style, there is a very quick but noticeable delay when you hit the ground but spamming the knife button allows me to "trigger" the knife animation so as the person is running I end up with this reach of like 5-6 meters and just slide n' drag into it.
