Mastery dogtag requirements

hi.

for things like the xm25 or m320, does it matter which variant is used? does it need to be airburst, or does dart count as well? does it need to be he, or can i use 3gl? same for pick-ups

also the requirements are stated as simply being 500 kills. but is it really 500 kills? or is it 5 service stars (100 kills each). this matters because of i get say 250 kills with xm25 airburst, and 250 kills with the dart, this is 500 kills total but only 4 service stars (because the service stars are variant specific and don't stack with other variants); so this could potentially be 100 kill short still. same thing for the cqc/mid/long range versions of certain pick-up snipers.

the only dog tag that seems to be specific is the m26 as it's stated as being for mass, but this could still be a mistake. irl mass just means the weapon/attachment as a whole, it doesn't necessarily tie to being buckshot (dice rlly should have called it m26 mass - buckshot, m26 mass - frag, m26 mass - dart etc). there are numerous examples of tiny errors in weapon or camo descriptions etc so i don't know whether to trust this.

can someone pls give me the exact requirements for these various dog tags? i rlly don't want to grind out all these kills only to find out they don't count towards mastery. thx in advance

    Hi @sumrandumguy ,

Good questions that you have here regarding how to obtain the Weapon Master Dog Tags for the various weapons in the BF4 game!

Lets take them one by one:

The XM25 weapon for the Support class:
It exists in 3 different variants, namely the airburst, darts and smoke.
It doesn't matter which variant that you use, to accumulate the 500 kills that you need with the XM25.
It is exact 500 kills in total, combined across any version of the XM25 which will award you the XM25 Weapon Master Dogtag.

Similar with the M320 grenade launcher for the Assault class:
It exists in 5 different variants, namely the HE, the Smoke, LVG, 3GL and the Flashbangs version.
It doesn't matter which variant that you use, to accumulate the 500 kills that you need with the M320.
It is exact 500 kills in total, combined across any version of the M320 which will award you the M320 Weapon Master Dogtag.

For the M26 Mass weapon, then that is specific for that version of the M26.  All the 500 kills have to be with the M26 Mass version and not any of the other variants of the M26.  The Weapon Master dog tag is only for that specific weapon variant.  And there is no dog tag either for the other variants.  Like for several other weapons in the game, there are not a Weapon Master Dog Tag for all weapons in the game.

Hope that helps and best of luck with the Master's tag hunting!
