Mouse Problem in Fullscreen and Borderless

Spoiler

Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 17134) (17134.rs4_release.180410-1804)
Language: German (Regional Setting: German)
BIOS: 1203 (type: UEFI)
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7600K CPU @ 3.80GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.8GHz
Memory: 16384MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 16318MB RAM

DirectX Version: DirectX 12

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
Chip type: GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC
Device Type: Full Device (POST)

Mouse: Logitech G502

The bug: When i play the game in multiplayer and go fulscreen one could say my mouse looses sesetivity and resolution as it feels like its fixed on a grid. This makes it impossible to aim. Only when i go into windowed mode will my mouse function normally.

It happens 100% of the time.

I have dealt with this bug for al teast 6 months by spamming Alt+Enter and then it worked. If this failed i went into borderless mode and that fixed it. No nothing fixes it anymore.

I tried updating my mouse drivers by downloading G Hub but this didnt help. I repaired my game trough origin: nothing. I deleted the setting files from the documents folder: fixed it for a bit and then back to the bug. I tried using borderless gaming software to no sucess.

If anyone could help it would me much appreciated.

PS: PLease excuse my writing if there are any spelling mistakes.

I do have it activated. But i found a temporary fix! If i delete my settings from my settings folder in my documents it fixes it for a session I think. Didnt have enough time to try it out properly!

  • Hey @Perondas,

Thanks for all the information you provided.

Have you tried disabling the Origin In-Game Overlay in Origin, and the Battlefield 1 Game Properties in Origin?

If you have this enabled, sometimes it can cause some issues.

Also, have you experimented with your sensitivity settings at all in game?

    Thanks 🙂

I turned off Origin in game gnerally a long time ago but i just turned it off for BF1 specificly. Sadly no big results. I think its slightly better but still broken. I dont quite understand what you ment by disabiling game properties. Still big thanks!

    @Perondas,

If you click on the Battlefield 1 game tile in Origin, click on the cogwheel and go to Game Properties, you will see a check box that says "Enable Origin In-Game Overlay".

Make sure that is unchecked as well 🙂

    Hope this helps.

  • First thing I would do would be to switch to DirectX11, it looks exactly the same and runs better.

Also, do you have raw mouse input enabled in-game?

  • I have the game running in Dx11 beczuase Dx12 is generally buggy and gets me worse performance. I do have raw input enabled.

  • I dont seem to be able to start BF1 in clean boot. It deactivates my network driver and BF1 wont start.

    Hey @Perondas,

Just out of curiosity, are you using Discord at all?

Sometimes if you have the Discord Overlay enabled on the Desktop App, it can cause some issues with this.

    Let me know.

    Thanks 🙂
