9 years agoMultiple BF1 computers on same LAN
Hi,
I bought two copies of BF1 for my SO and I to play together. Unfortunately, the game will only allow us to play sporadically (randomly) together. Often, one of us will get kicked. The one person will be able to continue playing and the other will not be able to join at all. The disconnected person receives an error message saying that they cannot connect to the server.
I am at a total loss as to what I should do. I have consulted many guides (mostly BF4) about multiple computers on the same LAN trying to play BF at the same time.
I have a feeling that I must port forward, but I have tried this and it still does not work. I have tried the following:
- I have restarted the router many times
- NAT Type on router is set to open
- On both machines, disabled anti-virus and firewall and turned off all other programs (such as Steam)
- Further, despite the firewall being disabled, I have opened all UDP and TCP ports based on the following link: https://forums.battlefield.com/en-us/discussion/38779/server-disconnected-you-have-lost-connection-to-the-session
- UPNP is disabled on the router, and I have disabled the appropriate UPNP services in services.msc
- I went so far as to attempt to port forward on one of the computers. On my machine I launch with “+clientport 20000”, and forwarded that to my static (reserved on the router) IP to my machine specifically. I do not think this is the right command line argument, however, as netstat does not report any connection on this port.
None of this works reliably. I would appreciate any pointers.
Thanks.
