My install thinks my PC is a tablet

Question

"Running" the BF4 Exclusive beta on a new windows 8 vaio. Unfortunately, every time I try to join a game, it tells me I need to be online with my PC soldier. In looking through my profile, I notice

-my soldier is listed but doesn't have the white rectangle I've read about

-Where it lists the device possibilities (tablet, laptop, desktop) only tablet is lit up

-When I click on emblems, it tells me emblems can't be designed from a tablet, and I need to log in on my pc

I've repaired the install, no change; I've deleted and reinstalled, no change; I've had 4 chats with origin help staff who haven't had any fix. Anybody know this one?

Check with Sony for any kind of upgrades, particularly for the system's chipset, and then with your graphics card producer (AMD or nVIDIA) for a latest driver.

Are you using a browser that uses the metro interface? If so I would try not to do that 🙂

Don't know what the metro interface is - using internet explorer

The metro interface is the interface for the fancy new start screen and apps that open up in fullscreen without any menubar or anything. IE using that will look like:&nbsp;http://winsupersite.com/site-files/winsupersite.com/files/archive/winsupersite.com/content/content/142567/ie10metro_05.jpg
To not use it you will have to find the correct shortcut.
