Hello,
My name is [deleted to protect the innocent] and I have a complaint to file with whomever deals with these things for your company. I own several EA titles for the Xbox 360, PS3, and Xbox One consoles and my current complaint is about the status of an update for the battlefield four title for Xbox one. There was a release of a title update, to include early access to the Naval Strike DLC package starting at 9:00 AM this morning according to all schedule information that could be obtained. I have been watching as PC players have been getting access to the weapons from this DLC through a glitch for weeks now, waiting and checking in constantly in anticipation for this content, which frankly has had me at the edge of my seat waiting for the new weapons and maps, not to mention the new game mode, since the announcement of its release came out.
So, this morning at 9:00 eastern time, there is no download for this content available. Ok, I have to work today anyhow so I'll just go to work and download it when I get home. Then, finally, at around 1:00 PM there is a notification that the DLC will be available for everyone who has the game except for Xbox One players and PC players. I've been anticipating this for weeks now, only to get a notification that the platform I have chosen to play one of EA's titles on is not getting the update and there is no date available for when it will be coming out. My response to this, predictably, is a fairly healthy dose of dissapointment, mixed with bewilderment and a decent dose of anger that content I paid well-in-advance to get, isn't going to be available to me at the same time that its available for everyone else that paid for it, or even paid less to obtain it. That's unacceptable, honestly. Even if it had been announced a day or more in advance, it would be more acceptable than the current situation of "sorry, but we might get it to you someday".
So for some background, I'm a huge fan of the battlefield franchise as a whole. i spent tons of hours on the last game release and even purchased Battlefield 4 for the Xbox 360 before the One came out, to get to play it in advance, with the hope to upgrade later for the 10$ price advertised. When I went to upgrade, the offer was apparently cancelled a month early for the 10$ upgrade, so I had to sell my copy of battlefield for the 360, which I'd paid over $100 for, got $25 for the used disk and then had to turn around and drop $60 for a copy that would play on the xbox one, so now, instead of paying 110 dollars like everyone else who was eager to play, or 100 like everyone that waited, I've shelled out 135 dollars for the digital deluxe version, with a premium membership, because I want the added content, I want the early access to the DLC when it is released. I want to get all the possible bonuses that come with it.
So I hope that you can understand why I am frustrated, when I find out on the day the release was promised, well past the time when it should have been available, that I don't get the early access to the content that I paid my hard-earned money to get access to. I can understand glitches and release problems but as a customer, I should be able to expect to get what I paid for, at the same time everyone else who paid the same amount (or less in most cases) recieves it.
So my question is, what is EA going to do to rectify this situation? I know DICE is the studio but they are owned by EA games and, honestly, their responses to their customers have been less than satisfactory as well. I would really like to know how I'm going to be compensated for paying extra, to not get the content everyone else who paid is getting. How are you going to take care of your customers who have been let down by this failure?
