Crossplay's here to stay overall. More players isn't necessarily bad. Odds are an opt-out will still exist like we have, and if anything participating in programs like Labs would allow feedback on game feel and balance.
If you want it to not be overtuned get in the program, get lucky, and give the feedback needed.

im sure you will be able to choose if you want crossplay or not

It's not a choice if it's on by default. The player pools will be mixed. Why do I have to explain this every time. Hypothetically, if there's enough PC players to a fill a lobby, and enough Console players to fill a lobby, everything would be fine with Crossplay turned off. Now with Crossplay enabled, those players are all mixed together. If I turn off Crossplay, I would be sitting in a queue by myself. Get it?
Also, the Aim Assist is going to be tuned with Crossplay in mind. Developers seem to think everyone can aim like Enders on PC, so they way over tune Aim Assist.

It is a bad thing though. The networking is noticeably much worse with Crossplay enabled. I don't know what's the deal, but Console players get like an extra second to react. It also mixes the player pools of the different platforms. It's not an option if it's on by default.
Labs is a joke, have you taken any of the surveys? Hardly anywhere to leave actual feedback. They're narrow worded surveys that try to isolate questions, but they do it to the point that the questions are meaningless.
And what a ridiculous take my guy. As a PC player, you think it's my responsibility to try and get into Labs, which is by luck, and then give feedback there? Pretty disconnected thinking.

RaginSam you noticed that console's seem to be a little more ahead of PC players too? So I'm not crazy???

There's definitely something going on. Some speculate Console players use wifi more often, so their internet could be more unstable, but personally I think it's something built into the game, perhaps as another assist. The current developers felt comfortable enough giving them reduced recoil, snap to target with four times the distance of what it was in prior battlefield games, rotational assist, and slow down over target. So, why not give them priority with the hit registration? Maybe put PC players a tick behind?
I play with a low input lag setup, and when I die to a Console player, it's immediate, like a single frame or two. It never feels natural. That's why I'm concerned with the next game. If Crossplay is on by default, I'm not buying it.

We probably won't know for a while, but I'm hoping that it'll be opt-in rather than opt-out this time around. It is a struggle to find matches with crossplay switched off in Battlefield 2042, and I can see that happening again if the same system is used for BF6.
I really enjoy crossplay when it's a cooperative PVE game, such as Space Marine 2, but I don't like it at all when it's a competitive game like Battlefield. I just don't think it works, and I don't believe it's possible to balance effectively.

It definitely needs to be opt-in this time around. The default should be Crossplay disabled.
I think part of the problem is that they're really focusing on the Console player base. A lot of PC players got turned off by 2042 and didn't stick with it, most of my friends returned it right away, and never came back to check it out after some updates. So the player base is a bit smaller than previous Battlefield games, and then what's left is all mixed up between the different platforms. Which probably turns off more people, and then they leave. At least some of that's been my experience. I don't know if or how many people left because of Crossplay, but a lot of people will just quit and not say anything, I'm clearly not that type though lol.
I'm finally starting to see people acknowledge the fact that Aim Assist is over-tuned. As a PC player, we're always getting told to "get good", "deal with it", or you "get to use your entire arm", and so a lot of people wouldn't even speak up about it. That seems to be changing, and I hope it keeps going that direction. I'm so tired of every FPS game being over taken by this grossly over-tuned aim assist Justified by Crossplay.

A little off topic but I hope we get some new BF6 news soon....
As a console player I am also fully on board for an opt-in rather than an opt-out when it comes to crossplay. The first signs are not positive though as Labs is also forcing people to keep crossplay turned on. Maybe this is due to not having a big community playingtesting yet, but it's the same status BF2042 is in currently.
All my friends are with me on PS5 as I've been playing with them for years, starting well before crossplay even existed. I've been playing multiplayer games for more than 20 years without crossplay, so for me crossplay is a solution to a problem that never existed to begin with. The OG BF community, whether on PC or on console, grew up and thrived without crossplay.
Speaking of the BF community, yes a lot of them left, and not just PC players. Me and my friends used to be in a clan with console players playing BFV actively. The clan basically died because no-one of them picked up BF2042, and this was not due to crossplay but to delivery of an unfinished product that did not pay heritage to the classic BF formula. Even me and my friends skipped the launch and only picked up the game half a year later when it was at a discount and some improvements were made.
Although they will never admit it I believe the true reason behind crossplay is a cost driven -> profit maximizing. Having most of the community on the same servers ultimately requires less servers overall.
Of course this is just pure speculation from my side, as is your statement about console players getting priority with hit registration. I play on PS5 with crossplay off, I also play with low input lag (console is hardwired to my glassfiber optic network, and my ping is always low) and I still experience the same as you, single frame deaths, hits not registring, dying behind cover etc.
I agree with ElliotLH that it won't be possible to ever get a balanced experience with crossplay in a competitive and input dependent game like FPS. There simply are just too many differing variables that need to be leveled to ever get it right.
I started my carreer with Battlefield 1942 on PC, and not having a leveled playing field was exactly the reason for me to move to consoles. Back then I just had my first job fresh out of college, so I was gaming on a budget. Not having the money to buy the fastest gamingperipherals or constantly upgrade my PC to the latest specs eventually drove me to console gaming to eliminate any variables as much as possible
Now 23 years later I have sufficient money to get me the best of the best PC gear and keep it updated, however I also have a family now, so life priorities have changed a little 😄
On top of that the issues like cheating and hacking that come with PC gaming, add to my motivation to stay on console, although unfortunately these issues start to appear there as well now with people using input devices to gain unfair advantages.
For EA/Dice the key with the next game is to return to the original Battlefield format with not too many bugs and gliches. By doing this the launch of next game should be more succesful than BF2042, ultimately leading to a big enough player base and player retention to keep platforms seperated. More players -> more money -> additional servers pay for theselves. We've all been playing battlefield, disregarding on which platform, without crossplay until BF2042. Why solve an issue that never existed to begin with?
