No in-game sound on PC

Reluctantly bought the game yesterday to play with my friends. I played half a match before I quit to go play another game with a friend, came back and there is no in-game sound.

Here's what I've tried:
Updating audio drivers
Already had Windows do nothing during communications activity
Tried using my speakers rather than my headset, still no change

Tried messing with the default audio playback device
Closing out BF4 and Origin then reopening

Rebooting

Switching audio output formats

Tried repairing the files

Don't really want to try uninstalling and reinstalling the game

Update:

Tried deleting the settings folder
Uninstalled and reinstalled the game, still doesn't work.

  • After getting help with an EA Customer Service Rep, I was able to figure out the problem.

After about a good hour of walking through suggestions, they suggested doing a clean boot for my computer, so I turned disabled all non-Microsoft services for startup and rebooting, it worked. So I slowly went through re-enabled and rebooting and testing the game until I found which program was affecting my in-game sound.
It ended up being the Nahimic software that came with my MSI mobo. So I uninstalled the program.

  • Your game's settings is located at

    C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\Battlefield 4\settings

you can always try to reset your settings be renaming/deleting that folder.
