Star Wars Battlefront has joystick support, and the game engine (Frostbite) is related to the one used in BF1,
is it possible to copy/ cross pollinate some setting file from that game to activate the grayed-out joystick settings in BF1?

Battlefront had really bad joystick support. It had no remapping and could recognize stick axis but not most of my buttons. It's been a slow degradation with each DICE title. ☹️
Okay guys here is My only fix for now seeing they are ignoring the PC JOYSTICK people that put BF on the map.
I remembered that I owned Pinnacle Game Profiler. They have it super cheap and would work with all games that don't have or parcel Joystick support.
6 bucks for full software. http://pinnaclegameprofiler.com/ Now you have to write down the keys in game and change some keys so you have pretty much 1 list of keyboard letter or numbers for the BF1 profile you make. But in the end I found I have Foot, vehicle and planes working at this time. And yes the horse, but grenades are on the keyboard.
Anyway, this is my work around for now seeing they are over looking some very good Battlefield customers.
I can tell they don't want to support a JS just looking at the bindings. Like, only a crawl on tanks now, no variable speed... XBOX *! Sorry call it how I see it.
There are other bindings that scream xbox port only for PC users. It is really sad how the consoles just take over because of the people that make them....
They want you to buy a xbox and not build another PC. Someday there won't be a PC version...
