No sound when I launch BF4

Is it correct then that when you do not run the BF4 app, that then you do indeed have other system sounds working correctly on your speakers/headset/sound output device?

If so, it could be that its the BF4 sound settings in your Windows mixer settings that are put at zero by default.  I recall this was the case for some PC sound drivers in the past.  So try the following please:

First we need to ensure your default sound device is indeed set correctly while in the BF4 game.

1. Open:  mmsys.cpl and press ENTER.
2. Set here now the right device as the default playback device.  There will be a green tick and a signal icon on the device if its set as default.
   
3. If its not the right one selected here, then select another one that is.  Then right click it and select 'Set as Default Device'.
4. Now right-click your device here and select Properties.
5. Go to the Advanced tab and select a format that is no more than 24bit, 96000Hz, as otherwise the old BF4 app cannot handle it.
6. Then click Apply to save your settings.

If this was not the cause of your sound trouble, then lets try the next thing please...

Here we are to check your settings in the Windows Volume Mixer, and check if the volume for Battlefield 4 is set to a certain minimum and not by default at zero, as some drivers unfortunately do with it...

1. Right-click the volume icon in the system tray, and select Open Volume Mixer.
2. Now you maybe need to scroll a bit to the right to find the Battlefield4 game settings, as the sounds from this are indeed channelled through a separate setting in the Windows sound volume mixer for this.
3. Make sure that Battlefield 4 is not muted in this Volume Mixer.
   
   
   
4. Now next, you’ll need to go to the Advanced Sound settings. Press the Windows logo key + I at the same time, and select System.
5. Select Sound from the left pane, and click App volume and device preferences under Advanced sound options.
6. And here you now go in and make sure you set the Output of Battlefield 4 to the "System Default Device" instead of “Game”.

This should now hopefully have re-established the sound of the BF4 game on your PC.

Let us hear how it goes please.

(some anti virus are at times the block, so are the "Origin in-game" setting if enabled, but lets try these things first, and see if that does the trick for you...)
