Hey Noooobody,
To me it seems like an issue with the static shadows for your GPU. As you are running BF3 with Dx11 or 10. Other games may not reflect the same issue as they will 99% run with DirectX9.0.
This is due to the shadows moving during your gameplay. rather than being burnt into the picture (IE: allways the same spot)
With a 7900 series GPU you should be able to ULTRA the heck out of BF3 without any issues.
One thing you can try now is to set your "Shadow Quality" to medium or low to see if it helps anything.
Otherwise try the following changes to your game settings:
Vertical sync: Off
Motion blur: disabled (move the bar all the way to the left)
Graphics Quality: Custom
Texture quality: Ultra
Shadow quality: High, Medium or low (Try with all 3)
Effects Quality: Ultra
Mesh Quality: Ultra
Terrain Quality: Ultra
Antialiasing Deferred: Off
Antialiasing Post: Off
Motion Blur: Off
Anisotropic Filter: 1x or 4x
Ambient Occlusion: HBAO
- Could you list other games you tested just to confirm?
- Could you post a screenshot of your in-game settings? in the "Video" section.
- Can you let me know exactly which GPU you have? 7970, 7980 or 7850 are very different 🙂
- What Processor do you have?
- Youre running the game at 1440x900 resolution, this can also cause the problem. Try with 1280×720 on both your desktop and in the game itself.
ADDITONAL:
It could also be caused by background programs:
BitTorrent
Steam
Skype
All 3 are known to hog up your CPU as mad due to their constant refreshing.
Furthermore your monitor is refreshing at 75MHz, if your game is running at less than 60 FPS then that will be an issue too, you can usually change this in your monitors options.
