PS4 Low framrate

Im having way too low framerate on my Playstation 4 Slim while playing Battlefield 1, at times its okay but then suddenly drops to like 20-25fps.

Operations and Conquest is pretty much unplayable, I dont think I get even stable 25fps at the moment.

Not only does the 64 player servers work bad, Im having troubles on the smaller modes as well, not as bad but definitely too much.

This is a new problem in the game, a few weeks ago it was much smoother. If EA cant fix this at the current resolution on PS4, would a video option for 720p and higher framerate be impossible?

Other games on my PS4 work great, Im having no problem with Battlefield 4. Im playin at ping 30-40 and I have a good monitor as well.

Also, if we have these problems on Battlefield 1, I really doubt that the next battlefield will run any better. And thats a shame because i really like the game and I really hope EA will fix this.

So the connection issue is now fixed and the game isnt as laggy anymore. But I still have low framerates, especially on the bigger game modes..

But I really start to think that a PS4 slim isnt able to run bf1 effectively, Which is very odd if EA make a game only enjoyable on the pro version even though theres more players on the regular playstation.

@Korpisavu I have 100\100 internet and still get many of the warnings in game for latency, latency variation, server performance and sometimes frame rates on PC, PS4 and Xbone. I get the feeling that it may be an issue outside of your and my PS4 since I never got these in BF4 when servers were available outside of EA.

  • Hey @Korpisavu,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing these frame drop issues.

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps on your end as well, to try to resolve this?

If so, can you please let me know what you've tried?

    Thanks 🙂

Well I did try to lower the field of view but that didnt make much difference. Ive also disabled the video effects that the game allows me to disable.

    What else can I try?

I have now tried all of it, nothing works. And to clarify, conquest/operations isnt just fps drops, those gamemodes are very low fps all the time.

When i test connection speed on my ps4 it says download 76mbits, upload 10mbits.

On my PS4 (non-pro) I notice that if I have any apps still open like PS Vue, Prime video, Twitch, YouTube, etc when I launch a multiplayer game performance suffers until I manually close those video apps. When this happens are all other apps closed on your PS4 while playing Battlefield?

Yes I can garantee that isnt the case here because I use my PS4 only and i mean ONLY for Battlefield games. It seems like a have no choice but to sell my PS4 and get a ps4pro or xb1x now.

Just now I started to see ingame warnings in BF1 so perhaps that may help troubleshooting..

I get both yellow and red latency variation symbols. I also opened the graph ingame and the "netw vrtn" goes red like every 5-10 seconds.
    Any suggestions to fix this?
