PS4 New game update required.

I have been playing when the game came out and now I am receiving same issues.  If I delete and reinstall will I loose my stats?

Have you tried verifying the files in your PS4 settings, or doing a clean uninstall/reinstall of Battlefield 1?

After you try these, I would do a hard reset on your PS4 (Unplug for a couple minutes, plug it back in) and launch Battlefield 1 again.

Also, are you sure that your PS4 didn't automatically update Battlefield?
