I've been trying to have my old EA account deleted for several days now, which might potentially fix the bug for me, just as it did for BonelessCheese.
Unfortunately, EA customer service is giving me the cold shoulder: one representative tells me the account has already been deleted, another says they sent an email to this supposedly deleted account to reset the password, and then a third tells me the account is already deleted.
I’ve noticed that my old account is still active; when I use the password reset feature on the EA website, I receive a confirmation that an email has been sent. I then tested this feature with a random email address and received a message stating that no account was associated with that address. This clearly proves that my old account is still active.
Is there a way to contact EA’s legal department? Because refusing my request to delete my personal data by deleting my old account is illegal in the European Union.
