punk buster connection timeout when updating on battlefield 3

i have installed punkbuster manually and still when i add battlefield 3 and update it says connection timeout, i have ran as administrator, allowed permissions, disabled firewall, ran pbsvc, deleted them and re installed to no avail, not sure what to do at this point.
