Re: Battlefield 1 DVD install Origin

So I can't just open origin and redeem the code and then install it? Because I don't have a DVD drive installed in my PC. And my local stores all have it for a reasonable price on DVD.

You can - I logged in to Origin and hit download.

However I would love to install from these DVD discs but it doesn't work - the product key registers and downloads fine though - miffed I can't actually use the discs for most of it though

I read some where people were having that problem and before they started to download it they unplugged their router/disconnect internet and started installing it that way. Not sure if it works though.

I purchased the game in Australia from JB-HI FI for AUD$60 (price match with Target)

I redeem the code through Origin, so the Battlefield 1 is part of my game library.

But when I run the install from the DVD, it does not give me the option to install from the DVD, it goes straight into a download!

Very frustrating as I share my internet with a flat mate and he wouldn't appreciate 3 - 6 hours of the internet maxed out.

Q: How can I install from the DVD, I have already redeemed the code through Origin

I know there have been issues before where there's no UI element to indicate that Origin is streaming data from a disc rather than downloading from the internet.

You can try putting the disc (turn off any autorunning installers or anything like that) then choose to "download" in origin. This should detect the disc and start the install. You can try going offline to make sure it's grabbing the disc data.

  • Hello people,

The solution to install the game from the purchased DVDs is simple:

    • After you install the latest Origin installer, stay offline to insert the KEY.
    • The game starts installing via download. Pause it.
    • On the Origin window press "Go Offline".
    • Then press the resume button on the installer.
    • You will see the DVD-ROM to flash and the DVD inside is reading
data, while the installer continues installing with 0 B / SEC on the installer.

I discovered just know so I thought it's good to share this info.

    I hope this helps 😉
