New to PC gaming. Sorry. Windows 7. Updated my NVIDIA yesterday.
go to settings in origin, then scroll down!!
1) Uncheck use cloud storage for all games
2) Delete settings folder in C:/Users/your name/My documents/Battlefield 3 (you can make a copy to save in case)
3) It should now work- Anonymous13 years ago
So sorry for being an idiot. Where can I uncheck the cloud storage? Sorry for being dumb, again.

Found it. Stick around until I confirm a fix please?

Yep. I found it. I am testing the solution just to make sure. No matter what happens, you've been very helpful.

I believe my problem has been solved. Something would have gone wrong by now. If it happens again, I'll just respond to this thread. Thank you so much 🙂

@eaagentx wrote:Hey guys,
I actually ran into the same error last night. However, it had to do with some security settings I had on my PC.
One thing you can attempt to prevent any background programs from interfering with your launch/connection is to clean boot the PC.
You can find instructions on clean booting here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796
Step 1: Start the System Configuration Utility
Click Start
, type msconfig in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or provide confirmation.
Step 2: Configure Selective Startup options- In the System Configuration Utility dialog box, click Selective Startup on the General tab.
- Click to clear the Load Startup Items check box.Note The Use Original Boot.ini check box is unavailable.
- Click the Services tab.
- Click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box.
- Click Disable All, and then click OK.
- When you are prompted, click Restart.
- After the computer starts, try to start the affected game or program to determine whether the problem is resolved.
- If the problem does not occur after you restart, the interference is occurring because of a background program or service. In this case, see the "Determine what is causing the problem" section.
- If the problem returns after you perform a clean startup, the interference is not occurring because of a background program or service. In this case, this article cannot resolve your problem. See the "How to return Windows to Normal startup mode" section to return your computer to the original startup mode. Then, go to the "Next steps" section for other resources that may help you resolve this problem.
(From the Microsoft FAQ pages)
Once clean booted, if the issue is still present, it could be indicative of a larger error. If you are able to connect, that would indicate there is a program on your system preventing the connection.

I will. Do you think that this problem might get fixed in an update or something? If the problem is common?
it can be lot of problems each computer is different, lets say i dont have such problems.....could be servers etc could be software or hardware etc, try contact EA see what they say....if you want you can try reinstall bf3....also read this http://answers.ea.com/t5/Battlefield-3/You-were-disconnected-from-EA-Online-1-ERROR/m-p/2336#M343 how to disable UPNP on your router https://help.ea.com/article/opening-tcp-or-udp-ports-for-connection-issues
this can be helpfull:
Problem 3:
Get disconnected very often without a reason.
Solution 1:
-Download PBsetup from here: http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php [evenbalance.com]
-Extract the files in a folder
-Run PBSETUP.exe
-Click "add a game"
-Select "Battlefield 3". The path of the game should be detected automatically, if not, point it to the right path.
-Click check for updates
-Once the downloads are over, you'll get a message "battlefield 3 is up to date" or similiar. you may now close the application.
Solution 2
-Click on the windows logo/start button
-In the searchbar, type services.msc
-Press ENTER
-A list of services should now be in front of you.
-Click "extended" tab
-Search for "UPnP host devices" or something similiar (the description is something like: Allow hosting of UPnP devices blablabla)
-Right click it
-Click Properties
-I don't know how to translate this, but there is an option like "startup", in the general tab. You can choose between: Automatic (delayed startup), Automatic, Manually, Disabled. You must choose Disabled.
-Click on "stop service"
-Click "apply" and close that little windows.
-Search for "SSPD discovery" and do the same things that you did above.
-Close everything
-Reboot.- Anonymous13 years ago
I will.
