LOL! Do you really want to hear my story of no success? I'll tell you one thing though, EA customer service is some of the worst in the world and the EA representive barely understood english, let alone had answers to anything. I swear if I wasn't tech savvy I would have been screwed because that EA help was telling me to do things that made no freaking sense, as if logic drifted away into a chaotic spiraling cloud of imagination or maybe they were just trying to seem like they were helping to waste my time. I hope EA crashes and burns because I am never buying anything EA ever again.

Well, for someone who claims to be "tech savvy" you surely write a horrible problem description. If what you have written in here is what you told EA help I'm not amazed that they couldn't help you.

This list can be posted for a lot of reasons. Perhaps you wanted people to spend time looking at your problem but you didn’t want to spend the time yourself to explain it in detail. Perhaps you havn’t mentioned your platform or computer specifications. Maybe your topic was something useless like “help” or “bf4″. Anyways, this list will contain information on how to give more information or give you the solution itself. Hope this helps.
1. How to make a well made question:
- 1.1 Please write descriptive (also the subject line) so the right people find your question and knows what it contains.
- 1.2 Tell if it has worked before, when it started not working and what did you do just before that!
- 1.3 Post relevant log files, screenshots, descriptions, movie, dxdiag, exact error messages, and all other relevant information(like platform) – even if it’s stupid and obvious (there’s a lot of clueless people on the internet, we don’t know if you are one of them )
- 1.4 Tell what you have tried in DETAIL and how you did it in DETAIL and what the results are, in DETAIL!
- 1.5 Upload your dxdiag somewhere and link it: http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-gather-dxdiag-information/
2. Check for current outages and bugs:
- 2.1 Check the Origin server status: http://www.origin.com/us/status
- 2.2 Check News and Official Announcements on Battlelog for outages and current problems.
3. Common questions:
- 3.1 Banned? Read this: – https://help.ea.com/in/article/information-about-banned-or-suspended-accounts
- 3.2 Veteran status? This is gained from playing other Battlefield games. Play4Free, Heroes and 1942 is free to download and play and each give a veteran rank. Other games can be registrered at http://www.battlefieldbadcompany2.com/veteran. If that doesn’t work contact EA support. There’s currently a bug for BF4 so if you don’t have your BF4 entitlements / status you will have to wait until a fix is out.
- 3.3 How to contact EA? Go to https://help.ea.com/contact-us . Fill in keywords then product, category and platform. Press ‘Find Solutions’ –>; ‘I Still Need Help’. Contact options will appear. If live chat/phone does not appear, it might be closed in your area at the moment and you might consider changing it to: ‘United States’ or something else in the language selector in the bottom of the site.
- 3.4 Can’t access DLC/Premium? To find and handle your DLC right-click your game in Origin and click ‘show game details’ and scroll down to ‘expansions’
- 3.5 Refund? You can do that under help –> history if you bought it within 24 hours ago, otherwise you will have to contact an EA Advisor at EA customer support.
4. Common mistakes:
- 4.1 Can’t find your game? Make sure you have bought BF4 and not just Premium. Make sure you are logged into the same account as the one you registered the game on.
- 4.2 EA doesn’t answer you? Answers HQ is a place where users help fellow users, not a place where you can expect EA to answer.
5. Things you should always try / make sure:
- 5.1 Make sure your computer meet all the game requirementshttp://www.battlefield.com/battlefield-4/faq
- 5.2 Try restarting your computer and network equipment (routers, switches etc.)
- 5.3 Try another browser (Chrome/FireFox/(IE, although often the cause of errors so not recommended))
- 5.4 Try repairing your game in Origin (right click > repair)
- 5.5 Try reloading your games in Origin by pressing “Reload My Games”
- 5.6 Check if Punkbuster is running correctly and update it manually – https://help.ea.com/in/article/punkbuster-technical-issues
- 5.7 Try setting bf4.exe and Origin as a trusted application in the windows(/other) firewall
- 5.8 Update ALL your drivers especially the graphics card but also components like soundcards, network card, motherboard/chipset, headset and mouse+keyboard, to the newest version, if the problem came with a new driver then remove that driver and downgrade to the driver that worked.
- 5.9 Try to empty your browser’s cache, history and temporary files.
6. Troubleshooting:
- 6.1 Try testing if the problem is still there if you perform a clean boot – http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

- 6.3 Make sure Origin doesn’t have connection issues ( https://help.ea.com/article/connection-issues-with-origin )
- 6.4 Origin is having trouble? Look here for conflicting programs: – https://help.ea.com/article/programs-that-may-cause-conflicts-with-origin
- 6.5 Try cleaning your browsers’ cache and temporary files using CCleaner – http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
- 6.6 Try reinstalling Origin by manually uninstalling first – https://help.ea.com/article/manually-uninstalling-origin + make sure it’s the newest version
- 6.7 If you have a Realtek soundcard try disabling it in the BIOS
- 6.8 Make sure your CPU/other is not overheating, check if all fans are running and record and post your temperatures here
- 6.9 Try deleting the BF4 Settings folder in C:/Users/USERNAME/My Documents/Battlefield 4
- 6.10 Possible connection problems? Try doing a UOtrace to EA’s servers to check for problems – https://help.ea.com/article/how-to-uo-trace – also do a pingtest.net and a speedtest.net and remember to post all the results.
- 6.11 DirectX error? Try reinstalling DirectX
- 6.12 Use Windows Eventviewer to look at the error in xml and copy/paste the solution here
- 6.13 Run Origin and Battlefield 4 as administrator – http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/ff431742.aspx
- 6.14 Go to the cloud button on BF4 and uncheck the “enable cloud storage for all games” box. Launch the game, quit it and re-enable the cloud storage box. Make sure to use the local data when the information box popping up.
- 6.15 Network/Connection problems? Make sure you are the only one using the internet connection, especially make sure no torrent programs are running.
- 6.16 If you use Windows 8 in another language than language than English, try switching it to us-english, some have reported that fixed their problem.
- 6.17 Use the installers from the directx, punkbuster and vc folders at “Origin Games\Battlefield 4\__Installer” as administrator.

What's sad is your troubleshoot questions are more helpful than EA reps. Whatever the problem is, it solely has to do with battlelog because I got it to work after narrowing down it down by uninstalling and reinstalling battlelog 17 times. However, today it stopped working again with the same bull**bleep** error or the continuation of "Logging In." on every web browser. Once again, I hope EA crashes and burns due to their poor business practices of releasing an unfinished game and maintaining the shelf space to cheat more consumers out of their wallets.
- Carbonic12 years agoHero+
Just follow 6.5 and you should be fine. It's a local issue on your computer, not a general one.
- TheEggman9012 years agoRising Rookie
That is not the problem and you should not tell people to use CCleaner, that program can do more damage than good.
