Hacked account: 365-day cooldown is punishing ME (Case #229886962)

v’m posting here because I’ve hit a dead end with support and I honestly don't know what else to do. The short version: My account was hacked. While the hacker had it, they linked their own Steam account to my EA account. I managed to get my EA account back and secure it, but now I’m stuck. Because the hacker linked their profile, EA’s system slapped a 365-day cooldown on linking a new Steam account. Now I can’t link my actual Steam account (where I play everything) because of a timer the hacker started.

The support loop:

  • I have been trying to fix this for over a month. I’ve contacted live chat multiple times. I have provided ownership receipts.
  •  I have transaction logs showing I’ve spent thousands of dollars on this account.
  • I have proven the timeline of the hack.

Every time I talk to an agent, they tell me they are "flagging it to the internal team" and that I should wait for an email. The email never comes. I’m stuck in an endless loop where I get escalated, ghosted, and then have to start all over again with a new agent who tells me the same thing. At this point, EA’s security policy is protecting the hacker’s changes rather than helping the verified owner. I’m locked out of content I paid a lot of money for because support refuses to manually override a cooldown caused by a security breach. Can a Community Manager please look at Case #229886962? I just need a human with actual permissions to review the evidence I've already uploaded and unlink the hacker's restriction so I can play my games. If you need more information i have everything documented.

  • Hello TheBestCaustic,

Your only option is to continue with support, since nobody on the forums can assist you with account related issues.

I know it's frustrating, but there is no other way.

  • its super frustrating. like what kindve system just locks your account away. this is hell man.

From my personal experience EA support does a solid job. At the end of the day, nothing is perfect.

  • if i could show you how ea support has absolutely disrespected me by ignoring me sending me automoated emails and gaslighting me   about problems i have never had . ud be shocked these "rules" are dumb and is punnishing real adults who bought their content and rewarding hackers by able to keep my account is insane . how is there no lawsuit happening

  • im a ea veteran for almost  13 years not some new accouunt and 13 years  just thrown away is actually so vile

Suspending accounts is a joke. There is no reson to. I proved I am the owner, there is zero security risk and then they suspend my account for 6 months. Why? No one seems to be able to tell me this. in my 30 years of gaming, this has never happened with any other brand. Absolute joke and people need to get their messages accross on the forums.

No wonder player acitvity has dropped to a new low.

They simply do not care. I paid for mine through Steam, now I have lost it for 6 months for a linking error. THEIR LINKING SYSTEM.
