Re: HELP! Battlefield 1 can't Select ANYTHING with Mouse or Keyboard.

Hello @x-BlackCoyote-x,

Sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing.

Before you launch Battlefield 1 in Origin, have you tried going to the Settings, and turning off the In-Game Overlay?

Sometimes this causes some issues.

Also, for a temporary fix, you may run the game in Windowed mode.

If you're still experiencing issues, you may contact a Tech Support Specialist via Live Chat here:

https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/

Again, sorry for any frustrations.

Please let us know if you need further assistance.

Hope this helps.

Thanks 🙂

I have turned off Origin In-Game Overlay, with no result. That was one of the first things I have tried.

I have also contacted EA around 3-5 times now, with no LUCK

Sorry to hear you're still having issues.

Have you tried playing in "Windowed" mode to see if that helps anything?

I will see if I can find other solutions for you in the meantime.

    Thanks 🙂

    @x-BlackCoyote-x,

When you turn off/deactivate the Origin In-Game, try Repairing the files in Origin as well for Battlefield 1.

Also, make sure the Overlay is turned off in the Battlefield settings as well.

Let us know if you still need help.

    Thanks 🙂

Windowed Mode didn't do ANYTHING AT ALL!

At the time I said that, I got lucky and when I launched the game with my controller and fiddled around a little my mouse and keyboard started to work. That fix has not been permanent... It was only temporary... Now I am back to square one.

I fixed it by doing this:

Go to Computer Management->Services and Applications->Services and find:

"Touch keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service"

    Stop it, and disable it

    Or:

Plug in a game controller (for example PS3 controller) to your computer before starting Battflefield 1

However, after restarting the computer, the keyboard and mouse do not work in the game, even though the service "Touch keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service" is still stopped and disabled. Perhaps when stopping that service it works because something else makes the problem (whatever it is) go way, same when plugging in a game controller (which always works).

I have installed Battlefield 4 to see if the problem exists in that game too, but it works fine, so the problem is in Battlefield 1. I believe this is a bug that has to be fixed by the developers of Battlefield 1.

Note to EA: I have tried all things that I have read online and from your support, uninstalling/reinstalling BF/origin, making a "clean boot", disabling settings in origin, removing USB devices and uninstalling their software, using a clean Windows 10 installation, and more things.
