Re: integrated graphics

Well if you took the time to read what i said in first post, the problem is battlefield 4 ARENT using my nvidia GT640M......and Theres no way my Card scould only be able to give me 10fps on lowest settings either....you scould try a search on youtube "battlefield 4 GT 640m" people with same Card having alot better FPS then me they get around 15fps on highest setting, same as i get on lowest....the reason iam getting so low fps is becourse battlefield 4 wont use my Card,

Bump still hoping for a fix, like i said before everything Works fine in battlefield 3 so there has to be an issue within battlefield 4 so it dosent use the right Graphics Card on laptops....

  • Same issue here for me with a 770M card. Been in touch with nVidia who really tried their utmost to figure out a fix but they couldnt come up with anything either. Of course the EA support placed the blame squarely on nVidia even though the issue only occurs since the last patch.

    Would really appreciate a fix.

And ive had acer support calling me up 7 times with ideas as well with no luck, they told me it had to be an issue with battlefield 4, and i have to agree since my GPU Works just fine in any other games, even Works fine on battlefield 3.....but iam affride EA will just ignore the issue since there might not be enough people complaining about the problem and WHO knows how many that have the problem but Arent even aware of it....in any case ill just keep bumping the tread.....

While you are bumping the thread, have you

    tried contacting EA support?

You can also post your problem on the Battlelog

forums so the devs will become aware of this problem.

Yes, got told to contact nvidia like so many others with this issue, i dont really belive the problem is with nvidia since all other games Work just fine, but in all good fun ill call them to so no one can say i havent tried every damn thing possible, so when the phone support opens up in a few hours ill call them up, did make one post about it on battlelog, but ill update it there as well, the support also gave me a phone number for EA support that i will try once they open for calls.

I have now contacted nvidia as well as i got told by EA support, chat shown below.

     Chat

A connection to the Chat Server has been established successfully.

    Arun (Listening)
Arun: Hi, my name is Arun. How may I help you?

Michael Madsen: Been in contact with acer support multible times to day, and tested out alot of Things but no luck getting battlefield 4 to Work with my Nvidia Geforce GT 640M on my laptop, so the foulth seems to be within battlefield 4, i can see any other games as active in the Nvidia GPU activity box, even battlefield 3 Works just fine, seen more having same issues so wondering when there will be an update to fix this issue, so people WHO only has laptops can play the game, running with 10-20 FPS on the lowest settings makes game unplayable and people with laptops scould be able to get a full refund of there Money if Theres no plan to fix this issue...

Here is what ive tried so far.

Ok i got an acer v3-771 laptop with Intel Core i7-3610QM @ 2.3 GHz 2 Graphics Cards Intel HD Graphics 4000 and a Nvidia GT 640M and Windows 7.
Ive installed all the latest drivers, tried removing both Cards in device manager, tried to disable the Intel Card but that made it impossible to play BF4 came out with the message that i dident have a screen conneceted to my nvidia GPU and closed Down the game....
Ive got all power settings set to high performance, ive checked nvidias control panel that both BF4.exe files is set to use nvidia, and ive set global settings to use nvidia.
Ive been in my bios and Theres just nothing about Graphics Cards thought about disable Intel Card there but no such luck...

    Arun: Hello Michael

Michael Madsen: i would think the problem would be with the game but EA said contact nvidia so i did heh

Arun: I am sorry for the inconvenience being caused
Arun: Battlefield 4 does seem to have known issues
Arun: however the GeForce GT 640 M is an entry level to low end card and on a Laptop

Michael Madsen: any idea where the problem is, within battlefield 4 or Graphics drivers?

Arun: this is generally not recommended for a game like this

Michael Madsen: and no GT 640m is better then what is lowest requrement for the game but thats not the issue, problem is battlefield 4 Arent useing it at all its useing the Intel hd4000

    Arun: oh ok
Arun: in this case you may want to try selecting the NVIDIA graphics card for the game and check the results
Arun: let me provide the steps

Michael Madsen: well as i posted in my text up there i tried that

Arun: please give me some time

Michael Madsen: i went to control panel change the BF4 exe files to use nvidia, changed global settings to nvdia

Arun: did you try to disable the Intel graphics adapter or did you select high performance for the game
    Arun: oh ok
Arun: sure that is the correct step

Michael Madsen: dident fix it though

Arun: if you have already tried this and the issue still occurs then there is not much that can be done on a Laptop due to limitations

Michael Madsen: well since its working on every other game i got installed, including battlefield 3, i would think its a problem within battlefield 4 that EA needs to fix well ?

    Arun: that is correct Michael

Michael Madsen: yeah thought that might be the case, ill go yell a Little more at EA instend heh thanks for your time .)

Arun: it was a pleasure to assist you
Arun: is there anything else you would like to know I would only be glad to offer further assistance

Michael Madsen: no thanks thats all thanks for your time have a nice day
    You have disconnected.

finaly got a hold on the Danish EA support over the phone and they where no help at all, they couldent tell me anything about the problem........NeXT step UK phone support.....this is allmost like a game in it self trying to get EA to confirm there is a problem and its within battlefield 4......would love a walkthrough for that....

Got a hold on the support on the UK phone support WHO transfered me to a tech supporter, and as i thought they dont want to admit there is a problem within battlefield 4, they say its a problem with the bios on some older laptops that dont recognize battlefield 4 as a game that needs to use the better Graphics Card, becourse battlefield 4 is a new game....that scould be the official statement from DICE as well, just not one they have officially come out with in public as of yet,

I did contact acer support Again and they are sticking to what they said before, that its a battlefield 4 problem since the nvidia Card Works in every other game installed including battlefield 3, and saying its a problem with the bios is just a bad excuse and just a way to get me to stop asking questions to EA....

Must say i have to agree with acer, i dont see how the bios scould be able to use nvidia for ALL other games then battlefield 4, and saying older laptops bios is the problem sounds like BS to me, my laptop is just a Little over a year old, and if a new game dont Work right with a 1 year old laptop then i would say there is a problem, maybe they scould offer a brand new laptop along with the game in shops instend of game+premium...right that would be the way to go, "want to buy our game and be able to play it buy this packet game+laptop only 2000$...."

Ive heard from a few others and seen some forum posts that some people with laptops havent had this problem untill the last patch, if thats really the case then that would show its not a bios error but battlefield 4 problem....

Next step i dunno get a full refund maybe since it dosent seem like EA/DICE give a F... about the problem, they dont even want to admit there is one....or maybe call the EA support Again, or send a million emails to em.....ill update in here once i figure out NeXT step..
