Re: You were disconnected from EA Online (1)

Even tried putting the machine in the DMZ (no firewall).

Why isnt there an explanation of what the error actually means ? Why can it not log me in. What isnt working ? Is this a problem with my account at EA's end or a local file problem ?

I see lots of people on the net with the same problem.... but nobody saying "this works for me"...

IN about 100 attempts to log in today Ive had 2 successful ones. I thought one was after doiung the netsh winsock update catalog command but then the next server I tried .. same error. The other time it worked was after everything was reinstalled... again 2nd server tried didnt connect ? Otherwise every other single attempt has failed to "log me in".

Ive tried turning cloude storage on / off too... No avail.

  • Have you got another EA game? If so try connecting to online servers and see if it works.

The only other one I have is Titan Fall and that works fine from Origin

Looking at the timeline ..... I play 5 hrs of BF4 last night and then when I exit the last game, my PC crashes (hard freeze) Since then Ive cant login to a server (its at the point of 'logging in' that it disconnects) 99.9% of the time when selecting "Join Server"

Clearly something got corrupted or my profile with EA's master server is screwed up.   And the 2 times it did connect and I joined a game.... why wasnt the problem 'synced' and resolved ? Why do I come out of the server and try and join the same server again only to be told "You have been disconnected from EA Online ⚽ "

Ive ran out of things to re-install / delete on my PC.

  • A disconnection from EA suggest the following

    -Incompatiable Router

    -ISP are blocking connection

    -Not Portfowarded

    -Program blocking connection

Is there a proper tech support forum I should be posting this to ? The advice given so far has not worked , and doesn't take into account the sudden nature of the problem (ie not a result of me updating drivers or firmware etc)

At the end of the day the error says unable to log in ..... That kinda implies a problem at EA's end , not my PC, especially after reinstalling everything. I paid a fortune for this game with premium and it's useless to me right now.

All the things you say cause a disconnect do not take into account the fact that I played this game for 5 hours yesterday .. None of those things have changed.

Managed to play 3 games in a row tonight, so either the following worked or EA reset something at their end.

-uninstalled origin, battle log and punk buster all from the control panel
-ran cmd.exe as admin and did ipconfig flushdns and "netsh winsock reset catalog"
-changed the DNS in my router from 8.8.8.8 (ie Google ) to blank
    - cleared all chrome browser data
    - in the bf4 folders found the C++ redist folder and ran set again to uninstall
    - restarted pc and router
    - installed punk buster with admin properties on the exe on install, updated client and added BF4 (then update again) and checked I had both A and B services running
    - installed C++ redist from the bf4 folder
    - installed origin then battle log
    - disabled origin in game for bf4
    - changed the windows firewall to accept connections for private and public networks for bf4, punk buster and origin (maybe battle log too I can't remember)
    - launched bf4 and battle log. Upon joining the first server it asked me whether I wanted to use either local or cloud saved data. I selected cloud this time (previously I may have tried local)
    - joined a server without issue and stayed until the end of the round so it would write a new set of cloud settings.
    - quit the game and joined another server (all ok)

So maybe it was something above or the order I did them in or by doing it all together or just an EA account glitch ... But hopefully that's the last I will ever see of the disconnected error.
