So I am going to be the downer.
It looks like it could be fun, but for me it seem it going to be another wait until some get bored to use to actual play some thing other than infantry.
Personally to me it seem like BF3, if the players are as fluid in the trailer to game it will feel good. However no Naval battles seem under done to me. No, the Indian scrap yard or Night cargo port are not naval battles.
It does have some of the the things I had been asking for but only seeing 1 single wingsuit it seem it a specialist type, so we may have get 4 specialists types but out of the 7 maps with 128 players how many are limited to a team?

@Trokey66Because doubting them after the problematic games they've put out the past installments with all the other BS they've pulled, with a trailer that is entirely "engine only" with no gameplay and is basically a meme compilation of "only in BF: is whining. Let's not go from one extreme to the other.
Just because they took "only in BF" and put it in a trailer to appeal to it's actual player base vs. the stuff they've said in the past doesn't automatically mean it's going to be good. Reading what changes are put in it, seeing gameplay, testing it, seeing how buggy the beta will be close to release is being prudent instead of being "oMg BeSt TrAiLeR evar!!!!" when nothing of actual gameplay value was shown.
Let's not forget how hard BF5 regressed in technical bugs from netcode to quirks to vaulting. I'm not going to automatically assume 128 on massive maps is going to function and be the best BF ever just because of a flashy trailer. We should be prudent, we can definitely be hyped and excited, but we gotta be cautious. We've been burned before.

the trailer didn't do anything for me. I felt nothing. lol. but the canned footage from viewpoints you never experience while playing the game rarely if ever does it for me.
However i don't form much of an opinion of the game based on the canned trailers either.
The followup youtube videos were more interesting for me. Lots of info. And that all looks promising.
the trailer itself was kind of cringe. I like only in BF moments. But pandering to that and making that the focus was cheesy. And i fear it will only encourage players to focus too much of that stuff instead of it occurring more naturally while playing the game.
the music in the trailer was odd at times.
And the trailer didn't give me a good sense of the gameplay and scope of the maps. It was a bit of a caricature of a BF trailer.
I'm looking forward to the gameplay trailer on the ~13th.
- @WeegeeLuigi It must be exhausting to wake up every day and be this big of a downer

@huskies3 Or maybe I'm not a blind fanboy who just eats everything up. I want this game to be great but I'm not going to circle-* this as the best thing since sliced bread just because of a well made reveal trailer.
I don't under you type of people. It's not like I * showed the franchise as literally *. If I don't blindly agree it's going to be mega epic off one 5 min cinematic trailer I'm a downer. It's definitely still 2021.
I was a huge fan boy until BF3 came out and it was completely dumbed down to accommodate incoming gamers from that other modern shooter franchise. I stuck with BF:BC2 because the servers stayed full even after BF3 dropped. I love BF4, even though it took the required 37 patches to get it to where it is now. 1 and V were both huge disappointments, and those two cradles of filth are why I don't preorder games anymore.

2042!!! That's cool! It's not a 2142 sequel, but it's leaning slightly into that idea, and the futuristic aspect will certainly satisfy some 2142 cravings. I hope 2042 will have more complex gameplay like Bf2 and Bf2142 do (as opposed to the last couple of Bf games, which which dumbed the game design down into utter blandness).
By the way, just about all the maps I saw in the trailer are obviously playing on themes for Bf3 and Bf4 maps. A list of their Bf3 / Bf4 counterparts can be named. I was pretty unhappy when I saw the very start of the new trailer, because it looked obviously like Damavand Peak, and so I thought it was a Bf3 remake... and I really don't like Bf3 (boring, small, uninspired maps). I love Bf4, though, and it's maybe my second-favourite Bf after Bf2 (though, 1942 is also a contender for my second-favourite game in the series).
From the trailer, it seems they know they've lost a lot of people with Bf1 and Bf5, and they're trying to get them back by basically refreshing what Bf3 and Bf4 did - but surely with a lot of changes, too. I hope they're for the better (because most-all of Bf1 and Bf5's game design changes weren't).
While EA and DICE aimed to recapture the sensations of Bf3 and Bf4 with this trailer, I hope that there will be plenty of maps that aren't clearly derivative (whether in layout style, or visual style) of Bf3 and Bf4 maps.
I'll add, the weather disaster thing right now doesn't interest me, just as the Behemoths in Bf1 didn't and don't (though, the Behemoths handed one team an unfair boost, so might not be completely analogous). I'm sure there will be, but I'll say it anyway: There had better be a server option to turn them off.
Overall, I'm excited for this, and I haven't been excited by Battlefield in a very long time. I hope the game will show a return to the more complex and sophisticated design sensibilities that were abandoned by DICE in their recent games.
Maybe I'm getting old but the trailer did nothing for me. Just a bunch of incoherent and seemingly unconnected gunfights. I saw some neat features here and there but the first thing I said after watching the trailer was "I don't know what they're trying to do."
I'm waiting to see gameplay to make any meaningful judgement but at the moment it was a bit... eh.
Also, natural disaster looks like the opposite of fun gameplay.
EDIT: It looks like GI Joe: the movie: the video game.
Well the trailer was pretty cool but its also true that its only a 5 minute video.
We are all going to have to wait and see if the actual game can live up to the hype and polish of the trailer.
