RESOLVED: Best driver for EVGA Nvidia Gtx 770??

Fellow BF4ers,

Had some significant driver issues with the new card where I'm crashing in the games and at launch. The game does not maximize and crashes in a small minimized box. It seems the newest drivers are terribly incompatible with Bf4. Can someone please help me with this new card, love how it looks when it works. I'm close to taking it back because its been a nightmare.

Does Shadowplay interfere?

Thanks,

  • @MINE_GrapeApe If I recall correct Shadowplay does have issues in BF4 but I could very well be wrong on this. To start with make sure all this is up to date on your PC....

Latest version of DirectX see this page
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/confirmation.aspx?id=35

Reinstall Microsoft C++ For my game PC's I install both x64 and x86 as it does not hurt the PC

NOTE>>> you need to select the x64 or the x86 file depending on what architecture your computer has. To find this out, Click Start, right click on "Computer" and select "Properties". Under system type is should say "32-Bit Operating System" or "64-bit Operating System". If 32-bit operating system, download the x86 file, and if 64-bit download the x64 file.

    Update your Microsoft .NET framework.

    Adobe Flash Player update

    Go to Punk Buster site
    http://www.punkbuster.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php

1- Download PB then extract files to your desktop.
    2- Open Punk Buster folder.
3- Click on the PB setup and it will open.
4-Add your BF4 game to punk buster its at the top of Punk Buster.
5-Then update punk buster again at the top of Punk Buster.

    Reboot PC test BF4

After you test BF4 if need be then I will be more then happy to help you with the video card driver :]

Thank you very much, I will try this as soon as I get home. The EVGA card comes with cd and then Nvidia auto installs the HD with it. Is this conflicting?

Also, do you have any info on UDP 3869 connect disconnects and connection lost after 5 mins of gameplay. Ive got two issues im trying solved. Thanks in advance

    Disable Origin in game:
In Origin - Application settings - Origin in Game - disable Origin in game

Origin Cloud Storage turn it off
    Origin, settings, General

Make Sure BF4 is set to 64bit if your windows is 64bit
1- open origin and go to My Games
2-Right click BF4 and go to Game Properties
3-Under when launching this game set it to x64 and check off disable origin in game.
4- Hit apply REBOOT your PC and then test your BF4

    Reboot PC test BF4

The video card driver installs so much junk and yes for some PC's the HD audio driver makes issues for some people. I have a whole list of steps I will give you tonight when we deal with your video card driver no worries. I always do my video card drivers in advanced and will give you a whole list of steps from start to finish but be warred you will only be installing two things lol the driver and control panel for the video card they can keep the rest as it can and will make issues for some people. By the time we are done you will be a pro at this :] The settings in this post and updates in first post should help with the disconnected problem. In over 20 years of PC games I have never had to open a port and not a road I will send you down unless we have to.

I am thinking most of this is from things not fully up to date and settings so we will deal with it all and get your BF4 stable. If you want I can also post how to make a cfg to show your FPS in BF4 as well as I can help you pull the most frams per second out of your video card. I have issues with fps after so many years on PC games lol.
