For the past few weeks I've been playing BF1 perfectly fine. But after a couple days ago, my game will randomly crash while playing. There is no error message, and windows just simply displays the default crash window, saying "Battlefield 1 is not responding". I have tried repairing my game files, reinstalling my graphics driver, limiting frame-rate, and limiting GPU usage (with the in-game settings). I think the problem is with my GPU as whenever I play the game my GPU Usage in task manager spikes to around 98%. I don't understand why it would be too much for my GPU, however, because i have a GTX 1060 6GB that i bought less than half a year ago. This used to happen occasionally in BF4 as well when i used a vehicle in an empty server. I can't seem to figure out how to fix it. Is there maybe some way to limit the GPU usage to avoid it crashing? (not 100% sure if limiting GPU usage is the problem but i have a feeling it might be)
I FOUND A SOLUTION TO MY PROBLEM. It may not work for everyone but this is how i fixed it:
An EA employee recommended that i start up my PC in a Clean Boot before launching the game, and it worked for me.
Here is a link on how to perform a clean boot:
https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/
This will disable many programs/apps that start in the background and slow down your PC. Disabling these programs from starting automatically in the background seemed to fix my game.
Big shout out to Kent at EA Help for helping me out!! 🙂
