Seemingly random FPS issues.
Hi.
My PC looks like this:
GeForce GTX 960 - Intel(R) Core i5-4460 CPU @ 3.20GHz - 8(7.88)GB RAM - 1920x1080, 60Hz Monitor - Some SSD with 35+ GB free memory.
I'm running most setting on low/medium.
The problem I've been having the past half a year or so is that sometimes when I boot up the game and enter a match I'll be around 45-65 FPS, jumping up and down. Other times I got 65-85 FPS and the game runs perfectly smooth. Sometimes when I got the FPS issues, I restart origin and it's gone(despite not changing any settings or anything). Other times I restart and it's not gone. Same with rebooting the PC, sometimes it fixes the problems and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it's fixed when the map changes, sometimes it isn't. Sometimes it's working fine until I switch server. Etc. I have no idea how to troubleshoot this. I have no idea if it's my PC or the software since sometimes I have no problems and sometimes I do. When I'm not experiencing FPS drops I can record myself with NVIDIAs inbuilt video recorder without it causing any issues with FPS.
Things I've tried:
Repairing BF1 via origin.
Going into the NVIDIA settings and choosing pre-rendered frames 1, 2 and letting application decide.
I tried the GPU memory restriction option in-game.
I tried limiting frames to 60, 120, monitor refresh rate(which is 60).
So if someone could help me troubleshoot this I'd be greatful. The most important thing for me is figuring out whether it's my PC or the game, since I will be buying BFV and I don't want to deal with this in that game as well.
