While good customization of a server for communities(fun, competitive) is needed. Limits on points or unlock needs to be there, what would be the point of Multiplayer if 3 or 4 players adjusting setting so they could extreme rank up.
However extreme rank up servers should not be needed if the grind to unlock all does not take 1000+ hours.
Note : all and every server needs to be able to contact an admin to kick distributive players.

I totally agree. I think that DICE must deliver something on par to BF3\4's Procon/Rcon functionality andt anything short of that will be a disappointment. There's no reason to tie a server owner's hands as much as they did in BF1\5.

Agree with OP completely. The BF5 setup is borderline insanity. All EA run public servers with no active moderation at all... who could have not seen this would be an absolute mess? The forums get active moderation.. the game servers don't... says a lot about the company priorities.
Add in the prolific issue on said servers whose name shall not be mentioned for fear of getting a warning and thread locked and you have what we are stuck with today.
IMHO the one thing BF5 did right was made the unlocks not a grind... really hated that in prior BF's and was the reason I'd hit the 24/7 2k ticket metro servers.. to grind out the unlocks.
If BF6 does not bring back rented servers or have some active server administration I'm probably going to pass. The current report function is a joke. I liken it to pressing the elevator button repeatedly hoping it will come faster. The same "disruptive" players show up night after night and spoil gameplay. All we get from EA is lipservice... if we get any response at all.
The current state of online play is a black eye for the franchise.

Also that point catchup up they have on conquest is really annoying. Sometimes the one team waits out until he catchup kicks in to quickly get almost all the bases- 5 years ago
^^^ Back in BC2 my team had a server that was always full with a line to get in. The reason.. we kept the riffraff out. We had admins on or quickly available 24/7. The miscreants usually got punted same match. Once you get a rep for permabanning people who want just to be disruptive in any manner... they just stay out.
We have the inverse of the above on the BF5 servers as I type. Nothing like playing 1 or 2 maps in the cookie cutter rotation just to get to a map you like to play.. only to have that round spoiled with "disruptive" players. And seeing those same disruptive players who have been on since launch up to the same shenanigans today... and they are lvl 400-500. Basically rewarded for making the rest of the players miserable.
Be sure to report because dice takes these issues seriously... also.. bridges 4 sale.. cheap.
If they do not bring back private servers at launch I'll either wait till they have them, take my money elsewhere or wait till the title hit's the bargain basement at a price point equal to a latte. I won't pay full tilt for another BF until they right this sinking ship. After this fiasco (which I pre ordered at full retail price), I no longer feel any loyalty to a franchise I've played since inception. EA & DICE have shown absolute contempt for the players who supported the franchise. If this is the look of things to come.. I won't be riding the next hot mess they release into the crater like Slim Pickens..

The state of PC Battlefield V Multiplayer in Europe got worse. multiple cheaters per day at the moment where it used to be 1 every week or so no big deal. but now it ran completely out of control. We need rental servers so admins can ban cheaters themselves. the only way to play cheater free at the moment on pc is join a active community server on bf4.
But I think pc is getting neglected from now on since the masses are on console these days

I am not just talking about local admin that are on community servers, I am talking about an EA or DICE admin that could look at players behavior. They would have the power to kick or ban(24 hrs or like that). I not asking to ban for life right then without investigating.
I am tired of having to keep switch servers after a round with a distributed player.

Fully agreed @DingoKillr and all above,
We need absolutely DICE to be serious about penalizing the cheaters in the game!
As server owner/renter we see the same glitchers coming back for more cheating and point harvesting again and again.
And we can only ban 100 players on the server at a time, which is not sufficient to keep them out. As none are removed by DICE despite the glitchers repeated cheating and them being reported with clear evidence and log reports.
For the consoles, I would welcome the same weapon controls for the admin as is available for the PC servers.
And can we please also get the player latency indicator and the hard filter setting of this to avoid the very deliberate OOR players.
With regards to avoiding abuse of server-settings to easy ranking up, then private servers should not add XP for ranking/weapon unlocks, and certain server parameters should be kept as default for the XP-ranking to function. Lots of other parameters available still to make some great servers for enjoyable gameplay, so dont see that as any problem!

I really hope they learned from their mistakes at BF1 and BF5. We want the rented server with our plugins running thus we need a working anticheat.
Sorry to say, it never happened even though they promised it would in bf5 so I wont hold my breath on it...
Now - back to BF4 🙂

@DingoKillr I understand the desire, but realistically I don't think we'd get anything like that given the current size of the anti-cheat team and how many people would be required for that tasking.

custom servers cant change xp or other settings legally in bf3 or bf4 and those "modded" servers that does it gets beaten down by the community when found.
The level system/unlock in bf3 and bf4 somewhat works so why not keep it ?
I hereby mean why invent something not
needing a change ?
