@CyberDymeDo you have any advice as to how to reserve my PS5's MAC address as an IP? I can't seem to find any tutorial for it.
Hi @Bedzzz4Less ,
On your PS5, you goto: Settings/Network/Connection Status/View Connection Status.
There you get the full info screen on your PS5 connections, here in red circle you see the PS5 MAC address. Scroll a bit further down and it will also show your current assigned IP number... Take a note of these, as you might want to use this when you go back to your router to reserve the IP address for that MAC ID.
Next you now want to force a fixed IP on your PS5, so back out and instead goto:
Network/Network Settings/Set up Internet Connection.
Click on the name of your current network from the found list of networks.
Then choose "Advanced Settings".
In here you now change from Automatic to Manual setting:
On the next screen for the "IPv4 Address" data field, you now make sure that you pick an IP address that is acceptable on your local LAN and is to match what you set it to be also on your local Router. Typically on the Router, you can see the various devices you have on your LAN and their related MAC ID's. Find your PS5 on the list and there you then on your Router now assign same fixed IP as you did also on your PS5.
Now reboot both and you should be good to go! 👍
