Unable to download Battlefield 3

I own Battlefield 3 Premium Edition (since launch). I recently build a new PC and want to install my favorite games to it, but am having trouble with the EA app.

BF3 shows up in my game library (which should mean that I own it). But when I try to download it it tells me that the download is canceled because I don't "own the game":

Going into the Game Hub doesn't give me the opportunity to get the game.

Additionally, the only language that the game says is available is Russian:

I am US based, and purchased the game thru Origin (not thru STEAM).

Please help me with this. I have put countless hours into the Battlefield franchise.

  • I don't know about you guys, but I just checked it yesterday because I was getting ready for the BF6 beta, and they removed my bad copy of BF3 (with all the add-ons) but I was actually able to re-download and install the English copy and launch the game. Then a few hours later all the DLC an add-ons showed up as well. I believe that this is because it still shows up in your "entitlements" in your EA account.

While they did remove it from my Library they did not add it back in as of yet. Did you actually present them with an email proof of your purchase? Or did you just have to say that you had a confirmation email? I'd love to know what you told those advisors. It's a shame I don't have a near 2 decade old receipt of a game I bought.

Yes, I was able to finally download and install BF3 in English and play a bit of the campaign the other day. Since the BF6 beta opened, I haven't tried it again, but it all looks to be working ok.

I have my emails from 2011. I was an OG gmail sign up when it was first launched into beta and keep all emails that aren't spam.
Even if you don't have the email, if the EA account that you used to buy it is still accessible, you can download your EA data.  Log into your account on a browser, the go to account setting>security and there is a section to download your data. It comes in a zip file, and when you open it there is an html file that you open (again, you can view that in a browser window) and there is a section called "Entitlements" which shows all of the titles and add-ons that you own.  That should be enough proof.

It was solved, but only after contacting the support team via chat. I'm not sure what they did to fix it, but since I was able to prove that I owned the game, they must have removed the bad info and added it back again.

  • Exactly the same here. Install options in Russian and then this message. I`ve owned the game since launch...
