Unable to Find Players in Battlefield 1 After Moving to Malaysia from EU

Hi!

I recently relocated to Malaysia and have been trying to play Battlefield 1. However, I’ve been unable to find any players in the region. I can see a few servers in Asia, but they are always empty. On the other hand, US and EU servers appear to be populated, but I’m unable to join due to high latency.

I’ve also experimented with the Slots options in the server browser, but that hasn’t resolved the issue. Is there something I’m missing, or could this be related to regional availability or matchmaking settings?

Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated as I can't wait to play BF1 again :D.

Thanks in advance!

  • @agim09 Are you playing on PC or console? I'm asking because I'm on PS5 and there are several Japanese, several Oceanic and one Hong-Kong server that I occasionally jump in on regardless of the red ping signal. I've been booted once only (Oceanic server) due to latency. Could it have to do with your regional connection speed?

    Hope you find a solution!

Hey @Cobra2Actual, thanks for the response. I forgot to mention I'm playing on Xbox console haha. I haven't really tried other online games, but also experienced something similar to UFC 4, but I tried to play Forza Horizon online and it worked decent and there were players. That's when I realised that it might be an EA server thing? Don't know yet...

  • @agim09 Last I heard the choice was a bit slim for servers in Asia, but you should still find some. Can you add a screenshot of your browser settings in case it's something there which is causing an issue?

Hi @ElliotLH, agree, I expected way less players in Asia, but still. Please check at the screenshots. This was taken like on a Saturday evening which should be pretty active. I've tried different filters with more or less slots, but nothing worked. When I just search servers there are some random ones, but always empty. What do you think it could be?

@agim09I'd tick the 10+ free option as well. What I'd suggest is trying it with a VPN, you'd need to be able to run it on t he router. Unless you use a hotspot with the phone and the console can connect through WIFI  to the hotspot, while running a vpn on your phone. Router would be your best option.

Hey @neoforo87, I've tried all the option of spots, but unfortunately nothing worked. I've tried using my mobile hotspot, but haven't tried using a VPN (on my phone).

As for the router itself, not sure I know how to run a VPN on it. Not many solutions here. I will try the VPN through phone and update here if it worked. Thank you for your suggestion!
