unable to play BF3 Premium
Hi, so i bought BF3 Premium in 2012 and have played it loads, with the release of the trailer for BF6 i wanted to play some BF3 again, so i load upp the EA app and hit play on BF3, it starts the Battlelog website and i find a server i want to play in hit launch and it tells me i need to activate BF3 limited edition.
offcourse that isnt working. after some checking i see that i have the wrong version of the game in the EA app. i have contacted support but they told me for some reason that i have to post on these forums instead, bit weird but okay.
Welp, Thanks reddit user Leon_nerd. posted this 2 years ago and still works. posting this to help others that might have the same issue.
Ok I found the fix.
Go to C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EA Services. If you can't see `ProgramData` folder then you will need to show "hidden" folder in the settings.
Back up the "/License" folder by cut-paste it somewhere else. (After this your 1. C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EA Services folder should be empty)
Launch BF3. This will create a new License folder but it will run the game.
You might get kicked out of Bf3 after few mins with an error saying you need PB xx.xx. It's basically saying it can't find PunkBuster.
To fix this issue, you need to install PunkBuster - http://punkbuster.com/pbsetup.php
Open PunkBuster and "add" the game. You will see BF3 in the dropdown.
Once it's done, you should not get kicked out again for missing PB.
