Veteran Status for the M1911

I have Battlefield BC1 and BF1943 on my Xbox 360, and BC2 and BF3 on PC.

The EA account I use to play all these games is the same.

I even have the veteran M1 Garand rifle unlocked in Bad Company 2. So I know for sure that I am eligible for getting the M1911.

I saw a lot of posts here about this issue which suggest to contact an EA advisor. I already did... Like 5 times already. Most of them didn't know what I was talking about.

1 of them said that "it should unlock automatically, since this is a server side thing" (didn't happen, obviously), and another said this:

"As I have checked with my extended resources. I would like to inform you that this is a ongoing bug issue faced by many players so, I would request you to please report this bug on EA forum so that the officials have information about this issue and they can take appropriate actions. Moreover, I will also go ahead and mark a strong feedback on this as per your words."

So yeah... Here we are again.

This really needs to be fixed.

  • I just talked to another EA advisor about this issue. This is a fragment of our conversation:

( 12m 31s ) EA advisor: I highly admire your love for the game and had words with my team regarding your issue but sadly due to being old the in-game support for Battlefield 3 is sunset now and we are not left with any option to modify, unlock or grant and in game content manually.

    ( 13m 27s ) me: i understand
    ( 13m 52s ) me: i have 1 more question

( 14m 23s ) EA advisor: Sure! Please let me know.

( 15m 59s ) me: when was the last time EA advisors had the possibility to unlock content? some players managed to unlock it this way pretty recent, and told me to do the same...

( 18m 48s ) EA advisor: There was an update last year where the gun can not be unlocked or granted manually. I would suggest you to please check Answers HQ or any community website as many players reports the issues and their solution over there.

( 19m 43s ) me: ok, thank you for your time

    @EA_Atic Is this really true?

@RetroRasputin Yeah... Looks like it unfortunately...

@TonicPlayer the issue is Battlelog is not seeing your veteran status https://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/user/Tewdz/ I show a 360 account on here but it's only level 2, is this the same xbox account that you had 1943 and BC2 on?

And then the bigger problem is that the Battlelog system is so old there's nobody left in CS that knows how to work with it because the system's been sunset. Unfortunately there's probably not any hope for unlocking the M1911 if you don't have it already.

@ragnarok013 Yes, that Xbox account is linked to my EA account. I usually play BF3 on PC now. I have Bad Company 1 and 1943 on Xbox, and Bad Company 2 on PC.

I guess I was a bit too late then... ☹️
