weapons not firing

why is it that when and only when I aim at an enemy, my weapon will not fire? This only happens once in awhile, but it's ridicolous and it gets me killed most evry time. I even tested this once to see if maybe it was just me or something else. I'm lead to believe it's a cheat used by the enemy, but... Anyway, I tested this by aiming at an enemy, firing ( with no effect), aimimg away and firing (with effect), aimimg back at the enemy with no effect even though I sqeezed and pushed and all but stomped on that damn trigger, all to the effect of nothing but my death. What is the issue and how do I correct it?

Ok, I re-installed BF4 and I'm still finding that my weapon will not fire when an enemy is looking/ aiming at me. Works just fine as long as they are facing a different direction. Help...

  • Have you tried using a variety of weapons from all sets? (Such as DMRs, LMGs, etc.) to see if they have the same problem? Also, does this only apply to infantry weapons or does it also affect vehicles?

It doesn't matter what weapon. Seems ok in vehicles though. I just don't get it. Maybe it's when they see the whites of my eyes, must be I get so scared I freeze up. i usually run with LSAT and SR-2, but I do change up from time to time depending on the situation. It affects all of them.

  • It's odd that your weapons don't fire when they're facing you, but do when they're looking away, as mentioned by you.

Try changing the fire mode while in game and see if that helps. (If you're using fully auto, see if semi auto/burst works, if it does, switch back to fully auto and try again).

Also, do you have any peripherals plugged in as well as your controller? When I'm playing BF4 on PC, I discovered that having extra devices such as joysticks can cause firing problems as a soldier, but not when in a vehicle. Try unplugging any USB devices out apart from your controller (unless it's an external hard drive) and try playing in a game.

I sometimes have my controller and my headset plugged into my computer(not the console) to charge while playing. I do realize that by doing that I might be adding alittle lag since I have 2 devices soaking it up on the broadband highway. But for it to make my weapons not fire at all like that seems alittle much. i'll give it a shot cuz at this point, I'm willing to try just about anything.

Ok. I've deleted and re-downloaded the game. It still does it, just not as bad. I don't get it. Last night when I played, it was every enemy that was looking at me that I couldn't get my weapon to fire at. This morning after downloading the game, I found that there was only 2, maybe 3 that it happened with. I did some checking online and did find a cheat/hack that prevents the enemy from firing at you. Soo, maybe that's what's happening. I just don't know.

Thank you for all your guy's help.

I have now also found that when I get revived, I die again instantly and it says it was the same guy that just killed me. I suppose that's a new topic though. Thanks again.
