what happen on BF1 if upgrade window from 8 to 10(solved)

as u know only win10 have DX12, i wonder after upgrade(i am considering and doing in few days later)to win10 from win8, is upgrade, not new installation of win10. what change will it be, will it be running auto on DX12, or i have to reinstall it again?

  • DX12 indeed do have features that can benefit greatly in future titles. All I'm saying is that DX12 in BF1 looks exactly like DX11 and for many runs a more stable FPS. You are ofc. free to test this yourself 🙂

  • You can shift between DX11 and DX12 in the games settings on Windows 10. Should work fine although you might need to install the Windows 10 version of your graphics and other drivers after updating.

However, most people think DX11 run better than DX12 for Battlefield 1 so you might want to not enable dx12 for BF1.

however, DX12 have much new feature, like in coming "real time Ray Tracing" . and efficient on core usage etc. and the former RTRT seem to be happen in coming BF5 or COD15,

  • after upgrade to win10, i just find it will crash, but it's solved(at least i didnt got issue now), that upgraded win10 users should reinstall the origin, or BF1 will crash from gaming.

so just uninstall the origin, and download and install it again
