Why can't i customize weapens in Battlefield 1 like i could in BF3 and BF4?

This might just be me here but i feel like EA cut out a huge portion of the BF franchise when they limited weapon customization. One of my favorite parts about the series since bad company and BF3+ has always been the ability to customise your weapons to an individual experience. After a lot of online gameplay I thought maybe It's just due to historical accuracy or something. Later i replayed the campaign and remembered that both bipods and silencers are on certain weapons. So what the heck happened EA? Why cant we be free to unlock bipods, silencers, and grenade launcher attachments for our weapons? That is one of the best features of your franchise and i feel like people would be much happier to have that feature back. I am a ps4 player myself but I really wish EA would put that feature back into BF1 I'd have so much more fun with it.
  • I like what Dice has done with the customization options. It makes it feel a lot quicker and easier to just select your gun, change the zoom, decide if you want a bayonet and you are done. I think it goes well with the WW1 theme of BF1 to have simpler options. I did like being able to customize more in BF4 but Dice is trying new things which is how franchises improve and I personally like it.

  • Almost all weapons on bf1 have 3 variants, it's the customisation of game with the camo of the battlepack obviously. In WWI i don't think they are lot of custom as modern warfare so it's the explanation of this lack of customization.

You do only unlock the 3 options of weapons in multigamming and you will be an happy man 🙂.

Maybe other version of weapons comming latter as the lvl 10 weapons who have received a second option.

Well, for sure there are a few different things in the Single player but in the Multiplayer a silencer wouldn't make that much sense, cause you'r not spotted on the Minimap while shooting. (Just if you got spotted by a Enemy)

And this costumize option in BF1 make it much easier and faster to choose you'r fav. Gun variant.
By the way this Gun presets are based on realiatic WW1 times, and which Weapon variants was able for the Soldiers to equip.

@Its_Travis_199 your last comment isn't entirely true. The helriegel for example never made it out of prototype stage so never saw combat. I don't know about the other weapons though.
  • The main issue is setting, World War 1 was much limited in weaponry, gadgets and attachments compared to the modern day settings of Battlefield 3 or 4. A lot of the weaponry featured in Battlefield 1 is prototype technology that may not have existed past double digits. That said, DICE are adding more variants to the game overtime, like with the DLC weaponry or free weapons (such as the level 10 weapons like the 1906 sniper), we may see more weapons and gadgets added to the game overtime, such as via another weapon crate free DLC similar to what Battlefield 4.

Not to mention, Battlefield 3 and 4 had their arsenal expanded over countless DLC expansions whereas Battlefield 1 is only currently 1/4th of the way through.

  • lol probably should've kept it that way in BF1 also...feel like that's all I ever see especially on a FNB match
