Why is BF3 so retarded with using everything through a web browser?

I don't get why they can't be like a normal company and have the option to play single player, multiplayer, or co-op in an actually game client instead of that **bleep**ty ass web browser bull**bleep** that is down or is buggy as **bleep** all the time for me. It's really retarded having to depend on a web browser to be able to play a game. What if someone wants to DDOS it the whole time? Then no one who isn't currently in a game wouldn't be able to play any of the game. Even the single player which you wouldn't even need internet connection for if it wasn't through the internet.

  • I have cut down your statements to the follwing:

    1. Web is more buggy than a game client
    2. Retarded to depend on a browser
    3. Browserbased can be ddos'ed whenever
    4. Can't even play singleplayer
    5. Website is a stupid idea

    My responses:

    1. No it's not, then you clearly don't remember all the bugs with the former gameclients. The website is also much quicker to fix bugs on as you don't have to roll out updates to users.
    2. EVERYBODY that buys BF3 on pc should have a browser. Makes sence.
    3. So can the servers and all the basic infrastructure of a client server based system, that it has a website doesn't really make a difference.
    4. Login to Origin in offline mode and you should be able to play singleplayer.
    5. A website has plenty of advantages:
It's quicker and easier to fix.
It's easier to implement new things.
Since it runs in a seperate process (which a clients wouldn't) it better utilizes multicore systems with plenty of RAM
Web is made for interconnectivity, why not utilize that!

I really could go on. Btw. this is ofc. not an excuse of the service being down, EA should handle server downtimes better, but that doesn't make Battlelog a bad idea.

Please accept solutions if they are correct and press the XP button if somebody helped you. This way you help others in the same situation.

    Cheers
