23 "Small" Features to Objectively Improve BFV. Guaranteed.

I get that DICE is busy fixing bugs, addressing the hacker problem, and working on auto-balance logic. With that in mind I've compiled a list of "smaller" features that are relatively easy to manage and make happen for DICE to vastly improve the quality of life and experience of BFV. Of course, it is my opinion, but I've found and I'm confident that others will also agree that these will greatly improve the game. Why? Because these small features all add up and make for a much more polished game. That said, here's my compilation of 23 features that'll improve BFV:

1. Hold to slide instead of double tap in Options This was added but as a separate key bind (X on PC, and you can press once or double tap to slide in Options)


2. Pre-select vehicles before they become available


3. Gun and rank # mismatched on end of round summary and Your Company - needs sync and more intuitive appearance


4. Customize tankers/pilots


5. Commo rose too difficult to select squad order objectives, esp. when there are 5+ objectives


6. PC: Allow rebinding of console key (~)


7. Make chat text bold and un-bold, respectively, for squad and blueberry teammates


8. Move "Redeploy" to the bottom of the game menu away from "Squad" and above "Quit", space between Quit and Redeploy; prevents accidental redeployment when you just want to go to Squad


9. Move Tides of War in menu to separate tab under Assignments - less clutter


10. PC: Press F5 to refresh game server, and Enter key in game menus wherever you can click "OK"


11. Custom order of tank/plane weapons, e.g. tank cannon round types are at #1 & #2, instead of the current #1 and #5 slots


12. Choice in Options to move to Deploy screen after death instead of squadmate view - this feature is already available in Spectator mode (!)

13. Assignment progress bar popup should not disappear at death - UI should not be interrupted Now added to game!


14. Assignments should show # in progress circle, instead of just the non-concrete bar - less guessing of how many more kills needed


15. Show dog tags you earn in-game and at end of round summary (when you enable rewards to appear) Now added to game!


16. Give us BF1-style Profiles because e.g. it's much quicker to change to snow camo, and quickly change to loadouts for tank/non-tank maps.


17. Record/show highest multi-kill at end of round summary and all-time highest in stats


18. Allow us to change/add Assignments while in a match - I get the "pain-point" reasoning from a game design perspective, but players seem to be especially annoyed by having to exit and grind out the next assignment in subsequent matches.


19. Remove the fatal injury time-delay effect if you're waiting for a revive and run out of time (unless it's a squad wipe) - this only punishes players who wait for a revive


20. Show stationary symbol on leaderboard next to players who are on certain stationary weapons (AA and field gun are different symbols) - visible only to teammates


21. Separate voice channel for pilots and tankers so they can speak to other pilots and tankers, respectively.

22. PC: Chat should not reset after each screen transition. e.g. when match ends, to end of round summary, to next match preround, chat that doesn't get entered either deletes or sometimes you're unable to type anything at all.

23. The "same" KDR but with 0 deaths should be ranked higher at the end of round game summary. Right now, if you have the two highest KDR players, one with 10/0 and another with 10/1 KDR, the one with the 10/1 ratio will be in first, and the one with 10/0 will be in second. It should be the other way around. It seems to rank the undefined division lower than when the denominator is a non-zero positive integer.

    In general it helps why you would like X y and C in the game and some I encourage everyone to do. 🙂 
     
    For number 2, pretty sure we change it to if you get vehicle now its yours until deployment.
     
    For 6 it's not something to do with BFV per se but an engine designed.

    Here's an example of #3 that carries over to ranks now that we have 500 ranks to grind. There's clearly a mismatch in the level. The end of round game summary shows that level 66 is near completion (which people may confuse to say that you're level 66 but about to advance level 67), yet the Career Progression screen shows a different rank and progress. If I'm currently level 65, it will show that 65 has the progress bar, when it should really show that 66 has the progress bar. That is more intuitive - 65 is done so it should be a full orange circle, whereas level 66 has 46,342 / 93,000 XP.

    Why? Because let's say that I'm level 499. Then level 499 has the progress bar and level 500 is completely empty. When I reach rank 500, then the rank 499 bar and rank 500 bar both simultaneously complete themselves unlike how it was done for all previous ranks. It makes no sense to do it like this. I did hear that this was changed to what it is now some months ago, and I think it would make far more sense to return to the more intuitive system we had before.

    It looks like at least two of these got added!

    Press to slide and assignment progress doesn't disappear on death.
