After latest update "Battlefield 5" Freezing on loading screen!

Hello there! After the latest update to "Battlefield 5" I'm having a problem...
When starting the game the little logo on the top right of the screen freezes but than I can here the music start playing,
I press "Alt+Tab" and when I miximize it back, it's on the next screen with the wallpaper. That happens in the menu and even when I connect to a server, it just freezes.

I'm having the latest update of "Windows 10" and the latest update of my "Radeon RX580" I have also set the game to "Run As Administrator" and checked if my "vc_redist" is installed properly but non seems to work, can you please help me fix that... I haven't had this problem ever before.

    Ich have the same issue.

AMD RX 580 with newest drivers and Windows updates.

  • Looks like the new update broke the game for a lot of people.

I have a similar issue with a RTX 2070 crashing immediatly before the load screen under DirectX 12.

If you have the game set to DirectX 12 you can trying launching the game in DirectX 11 mode but you'll most likely take a performance hit.

  • So guys, I don't know what I did but I went and opened the "RADEON SOFTWARE" and tweeked some of the settings...

I think the problem is the "In-Game Overlay" I don't know for sure but right now the game is playable. 🙌

  • Yes, I have the same problem. It is absolutely ridiculous. I'm surprised that updates are being pushed without first having a proper QA tester verify that such updates will not break the game.

Unfortunately, the settings doesn't help me.
I have tried all possible settings.
But it only happens in full screen. If you play it in a window, it doesn't happen.

  • I just installed old Radeon Software 19.11.3 and now it worked for me. No more freezing.

  • @Tic-Tak_91 hi bro..don t know if you fix your game or not but i had the same problem for 2 years and finaly solve it..all i did was right click on bf 5 go to compatibility and check the box for run in compatibility mode for window 8 and also check the box with disable fullscreen optimization..hope you solve the game and have fun
