Battlefield 5 Black screen after starting a new operation/match

Hello!

Okay so it seems that every time I start a new round in an Operation or in any match, my screen goes black and my game never loads.

I've had this problem since launch, though I've recently gotten back into the game and it still isn't fixed, so hoping this message will

be seen by a dev or someone who may have a fix!!! (I've already tried repairing and reinstalling the game)

Thanks.

  • @Roylack Due to your system specs you will get issues loading game as default settings in game will put you higher then your PC can do so try this and you will have to make the cfg to try and get BFV to load see below. ..Edit... Sadly your video card and CPU are hurting you with BFV and I am starting to think AMD CPU is not playing nice with BFV due to other people I am helping with a AMD CPU. I hope I am wrong and this cfg will get the game to open for you it may not play nice but you should be able to play on all things on low. As you do meet min system requirements. Your FPS will be bad if we can get you in game with this cfg and you should be able to.

Step one make this cfg for fps and add all below...

To see fps in game with no typing do this....

To see FPS in game with out fraps etc:
    1- open note pad
2-put this in the note pad.....

    perfoverlay.drawfps 1

Perfoverlay.fpsdisplayscale 4 <<< this can change to 3 or 2 or 1 depending how big or small you want it. 4 is large.
3-when you make the user.cfg in notepad, change the file type from text to all. And name it user.cfg
    4-Put in .....:\Program Files\Origin Games\Battlefield 5
    5-Also close Origin to put cfg in just to be safe :}
6-You will see your FPS in top right of screen when you start BF5

Add this below to the cfg to turn more off in BFV it could help stop the crashing. For this to work on Dx12 remove the line...  WorldRender.LightTileCsPathEnable 0 Or set  it to 1 and your game will load correct.  ...

    RenderDevice.Force
    RenderAheadLimit 1
    RenderDevice.TripleBufferingEnable 0
    RenderDevice.VsyncEnable 0
    WorldRender.MotionBlurEnable 0
    WorldRender.MotionBlurForceOn 0
    WorldRender.MotionBlurFixedShutterTime 0
    WorldRender.MotionBlurMax 0
    WorldRender.MotionBlurQuality 0
    WorldRender.MotionBlurMaxSampleCount 0
    WorldRender.SpotLightShadowmapEnable 0
    WorldRender.SpotLightShadowmapResolution 32
    WorldRender.TransparencyShadowmapsEnable 0
    WorldRender.LightTileCsPathEnable 0
    WorldRender.FilmicEffectsEnable 0
    WorldRender.EmitterSunTransmittanceMapEnable 0
    WorldRender.EmitterSunTransmittanceMapResolution 0
    WorldRender.PlanarReflectionEnable 0
    RenderDevice.Dx11Enable 1
    RenderDevice.Dx11Dot1Enable 1
    RenderDevice.Dx11Dot1RuntimeEnable 1
    Render.DrawScreenInfo 0
    PostProcess.ForceDofEnable 0
    PostProcess.SpriteDofEnable 0
    PostProcess.SpriteDofHalfResolutionEnable 0
    PostProcess.DynamicAOEnable 0
    PostProcess.ScreenSpaceRaytraceEnable 0
    PostProcess.ScreenSpaceRaytraceDeferredResolveEnable 0
    PostProcess.ScreenSpaceRaytraceSeparateCoverageEnable 0
    PostProcess.ScreenSpaceRaytraceFullresEnable 0

    STEP 2...

C:\Users\your PC Name\Documents\Battlefield V... IF you even have it you may not....

BFV folder in my documents holds game configs and screen shots even if BFV is installed on different drive. When you uninstall BFV it does NOT remove this folder. So when you install the game again you can still have the same issues. Even if its not a new install it is still worth trying as the game cfg could be mucked up.

1- Go to my Documents and remove BFV folder place it on your Desktop for now.
2- Be warned you do have to set up your in game settings again.
    3-Repair BFV
4- When done go test your game.If it will open do this as well in video setting ingame...

5- Set everything to low ingame see steps below....

Next step in game video settings advanced .....

Make sure frame rate limiter is set to 200

    future frame rendering- on

    vertical sync- off

    GPU memory restriction- off

    Below set everything to low

    Under video Basic ....

    motion blur set to 0
