Hello,I have a problem with launching battlefield 5 , bought it from steam. Talked with the EA support to provide fixes, every provided fix didnt help me with the issue. I've tried A LOT of fixes on the internet, still no LUCK. Can somebody help me?THE PROBLEM: I press launch on the ea app it says "preparing to launch game" and nothing pops up. I've tried this on steam aswell.

I've tried uninstall/ install ea app, battlefield, the registry editor fix, tried with the pc services to disable not microsoft, tried to put on Windows 8 run mode, tried to clear cache ea app's, tried to move the game from hardrive to ssd and vice versa. Tried to uninstall only the ea app, tried to verify game files on steam, tried to scan my windows through cmd and fixe windows corrupted files etc. Updated drivers aswell.

They said to put my problem into this forum thingy. Thats all. They only provided me with one fix, others just repeated the fixes i have already done.

@KapitonasVudis FOUND SOLUTION!!!!!!!!!

This solves the game returning to EA app with no error, and also solves the problem that tells you to always repair. courtesy to this reddit post from 3 YEARS ago lol

I had at one point Dragon age inquisition installed, and with it Frosty mod manager, I knew that Frosty caused trouble so I deleted it but even then it didn't solve the problem (crashed kept happening).

To fix it you need to delete a key from the registry.
All you have to do is:
- Open registry (search for 'regedit')
- Press CTRL+F (or simply search)
- Look for "GAME_DATA_DIR"
- It will take a few seconds, but if it finds something (For me it had my old dragon age inquisition install dir), right-click on it and then remove.
- That's it, enjoy.

@KapitonasVudis You are sure you have no unwanted program running right? for me I still need to launch my game as admin otherwise it won't launch. As a last resort a clean windows install will certainly fix the problem.
