Battlefield 5 Routing Issue
Hi, I just bought Battlefield V yesterday and was having a blast until today. I play on SEA servers for which i get around 80 ping. I played couple games in the morning and then took a break but onc...
Hello @LepreNx,
This could only be linked to your internet connection or you joined a different server with higher ping. Have you tried playing again? Same issue still happening?

Thanks for your response.
Theres only a couple of SEA servers (Not community ones) and its the same one i played on smoothly. Even the community servers have the same high ping.
I just tried it out today again, its the same case. Is there anything I could do to fix this?
I remember having a similar issue with Valorant few years back and I had done some changes to the DNS or something (im not an expert on this) and that seemed to have fixed it. I dont really remember what it is I did but changing those settings fixed it. Do you know anything of the sort that I can try?
Thanks!
Honestly, I'm not very informed on the topic, but I have found some information on the internet that might help.
The text:
First, consider changing your DNS settings. Switching to a different DNS server can help reduce latency. For example, you can use Google DNS with the following settings: Preferred DNS: 8.8.8.8 and Alternate DNS: 8.8.4.4. Alternatively, you can try Cloudflare DNS with Preferred DNS: 1.1.1.1 and Alternate DNS: 1.0.0.1. To change your DNS on Windows, right-click on the network icon in the system tray, select "Open Network & Internet settings," and then go to "Change adapter options." Right-click on your active connection, choose "Properties," select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)," and enter the new DNS addresses.
Make sure to close any background applications that might be using your bandwidth, such as streaming services or downloads. This can help prioritize your connection for gaming.
Check your network connection as well. If you're on Wi-Fi, consider switching to a wired Ethernet connection for more stability. Ensure your router is centrally located and free from obstructions or interference.
Updating your network drivers can also make a difference, as outdated drivers may cause connectivity issues. Running a speed test can help you determine if you’re getting the expected internet speeds; if not, you may want to contact your ISP.

Unfortunately I've tried changing the DNS server but that did not work.
I had just given ExitLag's free trial a shot (Tried it since it works for my friend) and weirdly enough, that actually works. It brings my ping back to normal.
However I really cannot afford paying a subscription service to essentially play BFV.
Clearly it seems to be a routing issue but I genuinely dont know what to do. The free trial expires in 2 days and im out of ideas.
