Battlefield has been a declining mess culminating with a proliferation of active
I've played the whole franchise and BFV will be the last one, I did briefly try BF2042 but Dice/EA has been clueless and it shows. Honestly, all I want is a smooth hacker-free experience, the unfortunate bit is by the time the game finally is playable and later polished, they've stopped supporting it and moved on to the next failure at launch. IO learned my lesson pre-ordering BFV and quickly got a refund and then bought it on sale a moth later. I learned my lesson and for 2042 just waited for the reviews. The p[roblem being is they spend the first year ironing out the problems, often a hectic back-and-forth TTK and some other settings and then another year to produce content, then straight-up abandoned and in come the hackers. I honestly half to give up on this franchise at this point. Is BF2042 even close a battlefield game? Because it just feels like they're looking at what the other guy is doing, release it based on a Corporate and very unfinished timeline, argue with the player base about what they want and then internally admitting it's a failure.
I see a huge opportunity to continue the traditional Battlefield franchise without them, let them compete with the other popular AAA titles and fail miserably. Produce a cheat-free BF experience with smooth gameplay and great hit detection and we can all forget this pathetic franchise.
Literally, the last 4 releases (BF4?) have been unplayable at launch and full of hackers within a few months, the latest BF2042 really lowered the bar, open your eyes EA, because people have stopped caring now and are as apathetic about the franchise as you are at this point.
