Bf V Javelin Anti Cheat - fixed after 4 hours of troubleshooting

Hello,

I would like to provide an additional possible fix for BF V Javelins issue - failing to launch, which may help you in your case.

I am running a Dell Latitude 5810, Xeon E5 2697v3, R9 390x.

The errors were failure to start Javelin (7) (2), and invalid parameter for the service itself.

What didn't help:

  • Reinstalling Javelin
  • Reinstalling BF V
  • Reinstalling EA App
  • Clearing Javelin installs manually
  • Using the separate Javelin installer
  • Changing any exploit protection or DEP settings
  • Disabling Windows Defender
  • Enabling Secure Boot
  • Running anything as admin
  • Changing security settings
  • Cleaning services from registry
  • Reinstalling GPU drivers

What helped:

Disabling TPM 1.2 in the BIOS.

Yes, it seems that the anti cheat may fail to discern TPM 1.2 and 2.0, and attempts to use the invalid version, failing on startup.

Amazing.

Hope this helps you.

On my PC there is a specific BIOS screen, as on this screenshot ( just with TPM 1.2 ). I just had to unset TPM On, apply and everything worked fine afterwards.

Well i disabled TPM in BIOS too , still didnt work and same error , i guess if it says TPM 2.0 security in the menu in your screenshot , you must have TPM 2.0 is some capacity , i have i5-3470 and it has TPM 1.2 , atleast it works for you so nice

  • Not my screenshot, just found it on the web since I wasn't at my computer - I've got just TPM 1.2 for sure.

Anyway, I guess that's just one possible reason for this issue considering the reports from other people - of course you don't get any sensible logging with this tool, so there's no way to get any insight into what the real error is.

I've created this post, since I saw that basically no one reported this as a solution that worked for them, and maybe it'll actually help someone.

  • Thank you ! Worked for me , My pc doesnt support TPM 2.0 since is i5 4th Gen ,

Disabled TPM on bios and game started !

  • DUDE IT LITERALLY WORKED

for anyone trying the same :

    1) i have a i5-3470 and it does not support TPM 2.0
    2) if you are getting this error , DISABLE AND HIDE TPM so that when you type tpm.msc , it displays (Compatible TPM cannot be found) , i say this because my BIOS actually has two settings , those are disable embedded security device (TPM) , and hide embedded security device (TPM) , if you dont hide TPM but just disable it , then tpm.msc will display (TPM not ready for use) , AND ERROR WILL STILL OCCUR

you actually have to set embedded security device (TPM) to hide so that tpm.msc displays (Compatible TPM cannot be found) , then launch the game normally , and it will work
