Same here - waited for this update - waited for the download, all is complete.
Now trying to load the game i see the new splash screen - poof! it's gone and i'm back to origin.
Deleted all programdata / appdata cache - nothing helps.
Now trying the repair but reading through the comments, i see it's not a big help.
Community ManagerAre you able to launch the game after a clean boot to see if a process running in the background is causing some conflict with the new update? Immediately launch Origin as administrator once you perform the clean boot.

found a fix:
delete Battlefield 5 folder in documents folder
no more crash
I ran repair this morning didn't help. I have a nvidia geforce gtx 1060 with current drivers, also have intel hd graphics 630 which I just updated. Also just updated my intel dual band wireless. I tried loading battlefield v and it now works. Not sure if this helped but I now can play the game.
How do you "run repair"?
@Mister_Babooshka Hello ! You said deleting the folder? Won't it delete the game in itself?
So has a fix been figured out? I get the new yellow opening screen with the guy holding the BAR. Then CRASH. I've updated the graphics card & windows. Tried loading the game as an ADMIN. Nothing helps.
This sucks! Please help.
It seems like the repair worked for me - i was able to load the game and play the mission once it ended.
Wasted allot of time for me, but at least it finally worked!
