BFV and mass effect hard GPU driver crash

Ok so a problem that is persisting even after bugging tech support and doing numerous types of TS to solve is screen going funky on both games and desktop causing it to distort and bring up green/red/blue bars.

Hard restart most of time keeps the issue so have to either let the computer realize the GPU is funky and self restart or attempt to find mouse to guide to restart.

Have checked for background programs that would interfere and nothing is on running in background that would.
Did a deep clean and registry purge in safe mode for a clean empty driver install
Disabled freesync on monitor
Tried adjusting resolution down to a lower one and made it worse
swaped out HDMI cord to see if that did anything and no avail

game is on steam but did a file check 2x and nothing turned up same with mass effect.

GPU is 1080TI
CPU: I7 6850X

Ram:  2133 32gb

At a wall atm with these two games but can run any other game i have fine on 4k no problem (world of warships/titanfall2/BF4)

    phew... running out of options now...

    As you already did the file integrity check. Maybe completely wipe the game files and do a complete reinstall?

    Did you find anything suspicious in the windows event viewer (e.g. an error or a warning) at the time you start the game and it crashes?

    Well no that is the odd thing not showing anything related to that. It shows the forced shutdowns and restart warnings but nothing related to the games or the GPU's prior to that...

    No errors when validating both games files.

    i've also checked all my other games in 4k fullscreen and they run fine. it is just odd these two do the same thing.
