BFV extreme lag-spikes -unplayable

I really want to like this Game but I'm getting insane ping spikes (over 999) anything from once to five times per game. Makes it almost unplayable.

At this stage I think it must be server related. I don't have the fastest internet (20Mbps) but EVERY other online game is fine. System is also quite high end with a 10700K and 3080Ti so that is not an issue.

I have tried the following:-

Made sure any onedrive services are closed.
Running in DX11.
Checking if I have a Killer network adapter (mine is a Realtek 2.5gb).

At this rate I'm hesitant to buy BF2042.
I think the fact that in europe our only server options are in germany might have something to do with this!!

If anyone can reccomend anything else to try I'd be super grateful.
